Beautiful modern villa ideal for a family stay

We had a fantastic 2 week stay at Villa del Sole, 2 couples and 2 older teens. The villa is very modern with quality furniture and fittings and very well equipped (the photos don’t do it justice). The pool is huge and we had plenty of space to relax. There is also a lot of well kept land with horses and goats and we especially loved the resident donkey! Great views and a relaxing rural feel. Santi and his family live in the upstairs flat, they were very lovely and welcoming and weren’t at all intrusive. The villa is situated on a mountain about 20 minutes outside of Avola, which is where the nearest shop is. The drive up a narrow road with hairpin bends was definitely a challenge, and the only slight negative of our whole stay. Would recommend the pizzeria at Cavagrande, excellent cheap food in a delightful setting, but you do need to book as it was rammed on a Sunday evening. Noto is an easy drive and worth visiting as was Syracusa. We also made the trip to Etna and Taormina which was about 1.5 hours. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and many thanks to the host for our stay.

Wonderful

This is a lovely place to stay. It had everything we needed and we would definitely go back. The property is comfortable and very well presented. Be aware that the villa is not in Avola but up in the mountains about a fifteen minute drive up a twisty road. The views are wonderful and it is very peaceful. Santi and his partner live above the flat that is for rent. They gave us lots of fruit and vegetables from the garden and told us to help ourselves. Santi is very friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. The bedrooms are spacious with more than enough storage and furniture. The windows have mosquito screens so you can have fresh air at night. There are air conditioners and fans. The bathrooms and showers are great. The kitchen is well equipped. Basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt and pepper were supplied, along with a small selection of basic ingredients to get us started. Certainly enough for a first meal if we hadn’t made it to the supermarket. The living area is light and spacious with comfortable seating, and large sliding doors to the outside. The pool is very nice and large with lots of sunbeds. We had it to ourselves every day and there are lights in the evening. The balcony is perfect for sitting out with a view across fields down to the coast. The village is very close with a family run restaurant where we ate out. There is an outdoor kitchen and barbeque.

Very well equipped house

Beautiful house with spacious grounds in peaceful rural surroundings. The pool was lovely and well maintained. Lots of outdoor space and furniture. We would definitely go back.

Absolute recommendation / Raccomandazione assoluta

We were very happy with our stay. The flat is very clean, modern, light and recently also has a winter garden (the glass fronts can be opened if necessary) with a whirlpool .From there you look out over the beautiful landscape with hills and olive trees. The property is very quietly situated on a hill above Avola, so that it is always 3-4 degrees cooler at the top than on the coast, which is certainly pleasant in high summer. Santi is a very open, friendly and pleasant host who cares a lot about the well-being of his guests. We can recommend this flat 100%. Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti del nostro soggiorno. L'appartamento è molto pulito, moderno, luminoso e recentemente ha anche un giardino d'inverno (le vetrate possono essere aperte se necessario) con vasca idromassaggio. Da lì si guarda il bellissimo paesaggio con colline e ulivi. La proprietà è situata in posizione molto tranquilla su una collina sopra Avola, così che in cima è sempre 3-4 gradi più fresco rispetto alla costa, il che è certamente piacevole in piena estate. Santi è un padrone di casa molto aperto, amichevole e piacevole che ha a cuore gli interessi dei suoi ospiti. Possiamo raccomandare questo appartamento al 100%.
