Wl-Fi was great. Didn't use the pool because the warm lagoon was only 2 blocks away. Staff was excellent, espeically Vanessa. She gave me so many tips, especially when the best day to cruise the lagoon. Housekeeping sometimes need a reminder to clean my room. I wish there was s closet to hang clothes and other drawers to store things.

The location was perfect. It was a very close walk to the lagoon and to many restaurants and town centre. Front desk staff told us there was nothing nearby but that is not correct. Not an option for anyone that has mobility issues. The restaurant didn’t serve lunch and had many things unavailable for dinner.
Rooftop private plunge pool was kind of scummy. Don’t use it because of that.

Best hotel I've stayed at in Mexico

I've lived in Mexico for 3 years and this is the best hotel we've stayed at. So much attention to detail and I loved the small size of the hotel. The private rooftop and plunge pool were a great extra. Food was amazing, beds were comfortable, everything was perfect. I won't stay anywhere else!

Bacalari Hotel is located in a very convenient area. Very close to Lake Bacalar. Around the corner, there's a cafe that sells great coffee and breakfast items. If you're a walker, you can walk to the main square - at the most 1.5 miles where you'll find a nice park, Fort San Felipe Bacalar and museum and lots of restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Amazing property! The rooms, the design, the view, everything is great! One of the reception staff (with short hair) was very nice but the rest was rather cold which felt a bit odd. The pool is great, however pool staff allows guests to smoke (weed) in the pool which would put off some of the guests. A shame really but we had overall a great time.
