Mixed feelings

We booked our room for the huge balcony. It turned out to be huge but was covered in snow and ice. That was disappointing. Electrics in the building were also poor, you had to choose the plugs you wanted to use. The building itself is all it promises and makes your stay interesting and that was why we tried it. Still balcony especially was disappointing. This may seemmlike a bargain but I am not 100% sure on that. The building is exceptional, there us no denying that.

New Year at Bad Gastein

Very friendly service, but the reception is located at the restaurant/bar far away from entrance at -1 floor. Only a few parking spaces available. Great views. Going skiing? - take a taxi to the ski-lifts, saves you a lot of logistics with car and parking, but have the taxi number by you ( you can get it from the reception ). Restaurant is not open at day time - but because of the people there, I could have my afternoon coffee there. Probably won't work all the time - lots of cafeterias near-by. Hotel manager, cleaning personnel, restaurant personnel really make the best for you. Just ask.

Laskettelureisulla kahden kaverin kanssa. Aluksi paikasta tuli mieleen elokuva Hohto. Parhaat pÀivÀnsÀ nÀhnyt hieno rakennus jossa ei nÀkynyt ketÀÀn missÀÀn :) Hotelli sijaitsee alakaupungissa joten sieltÀ on aikamoinen kÀvely ylÀmÀkeen ylÀkaupunkiin, jossa suurinosa ravintoloista ja baareista on. Alakaupunki todella nÀivettynyt, rakennusten ympÀrillÀ aidat ja ravintoloita vÀhÀn. Aamuisin kuljimme vuokra-autollamme rinteille, joten hiihtobussin toimivuutta hotelllista hisseille ei tullut kokeiltua. TÀstÀ syystÀ laskujen jÀlkeiset suorat afterskiitkin jÀivÀt viettÀmÀttÀ, koska kukaan ei halunnut roudata kamoja pitkiÀ matkoja. Huone oli ihan perustasoinen ja suihkusta saatiin kuumaa vettÀ pienen vÀÀntelyn jÀlkeen. Plussaa parvekkeesta jonne sai "elintarvikkeet" viilenemÀÀn. Aamupala ei lÀhellÀkÀÀn Suomen hotelliaamiaisia mutta mahan sai tÀyteen. liikoja kasviksia aamuaisella ei kannata odottaa.

Ett lugnt och stillsamt hotell, nÀstan lite öde dÄ det var sÄ stora gemensamma utrymmen som inte anvÀnds ex breda stora korridorer och trappor. En bra frukost med tv som visade pister och vÀder dÀrifrÄn. NÀra till restauranger och gÄng avstÄnd till liften med skor, dock en riktigt rejÀl uppförsbacke dit och nedför hem. DÀr man fick ta paus för att inte bli slut, fast jag har hyfsad kondition.

Hotel gut, personal teilweise nicht deutschsprachig, die zimmer suber und groß. Bett war ein traum! FrĂŒhstĂŒck leider schlecht! RĂŒhreier waren verbrannt und schmeckten nach alten öl.. Die bar und das restaurant waren perfekt! Preisleistung ok!

En oplevelse vi ikke ville have undvĂŠret :-)

Utroligt flot og renoveret vĂŠrelse. Hyggelig bar i kĂŠlderen og udenmĂŠrket casino. Derudover virkede Resten af hotellet noget gammelt og lidt forsĂžmt.

Snowboarding in Bad Gastein

Very nice and historical hotel but looks better outside than inside. Overall condition ok but needs a bit renovation and update both rooms and corridors. Room was ok but not as clorius as in pictures. Very good location in the historical Centrum.
