Welcome to Orchid Harbor, a classic New England style home with stunning southerly views of Casco Bay, perfectly located in the heart of Bailey Island within walking distance of Cook`s Lobster & Ale House, Morse`s Seafood Grille, the historic Cribstone Bridge, and the Salt Cod Cafe. The large lawn across the way, belonging to the home, lends to easy water access, perfect for launching a kayak to explore the coast of Harpswell or combing the shoreline for treasures. You`ll love the stunning sunsets painting the sky with beautiful purple, rose, and orange hues. For folks seeking adventure, the Schooner Alert Windjammer and Casco Bay Line cruises are just a short walk away.

Inside the house you`ll find a classic kitchen with all you`ll need to cook, multiple sitting areas for family and friends to gather, a spacious dining room, and access to the private backyard, perfect for yard games. Upstairs, you`ll find a master bedroom with sweeping ocean views, a second bedroom with yard views, and a third bedroom with ocean views. The home offers two full bathrooms, one on each floor. Also an attached one bedroom, one bathroom in-law apartment that can be rented in addition to the main house to give you room for four more guests (availability not guaranteed, must be rented separately, see `Sunset Hideaway` listing).

** Orchid Harbor has an attached one bedroom apartment, Sunset Hideaway, that can be rented in addition to the main house (if available). Sunset Hideaway guests have the right to use the waterfront yard (across Garrison Cove Road) and access the waterfront via path. The apartment shares one wall with the main house (built in bookcase in sitting area by the dining room) and has private parking and entry.

Perfect Quiet Family Getaway

Orchid Harbor was perfect for my 3 week escape from life. Bailey Island is quiet and the house is comfortable and accommodating for family and friends.The outdoor seating along the ocean was our favorite place to be.

We (8 adults) had a wonderful long weekend. We especially enjoyed the grassy lot across the road. Coffee in the morning, croquet , lunch on the picnic table and sunset by the fire pit. Perfect.

4 adults (50), Mon-Fri stay. Great location within easy walking distance ( 0.5 miles) of two popular (touristy) restaurants. The waterfront lot across the quiet road had great views of the working harbor and sunsets. Very clean older home with a few additions over time that had private places for quiet reading or just watching life in the harbor. Bedrooms are upstairs in the main rental, please note these are steep stairs - doable, but slightly challenging when carrying things up/down.
