The Hideaway, perfect retreat near the Cairngorms

The Hideaway nestles into the foothills of the Cairngorms Naional Park, built of traditional granite stone, hand built by the owner over a 4 year period, features 18 douglas fir truses providing an inspiring environment for guests with the open plan layout: the family room, kitchen and dining area. The adjoining Bothy sleeps 2 adults and a child, included in the rental cost. The house sleeps 13 adults +2 children comfortably. Ideal for friends and family celebrations, extended family who wish to spend quality time together. We also cater for small weddings , please email for more information. Well behaved 'hens and stags’ are also welcome. The jacuzzi, gym and BBQ are also available, please ask for details and charges for jacuzzi. The adjoining Bothy has an open plan layout with its own separate kitchen, island, tv lounged shower room. Sleeps 2 adults in 1 bedroom mezzanine with a small double sofa bed for a child up to 14. The Hideaway and The Bothy can be booked separately, see separate listings for details. Please note, we charge £250 for exclusive use of the hot tub. It’s a big tub and expensive to run, maintain and clean. It overlooks the uninterrupted countryside, with fab views, protected by the elements with a slate gazebo. The hot tub measures 2.5 sq. mts. Please reserve and pay for this service 1 week before arrival. You are welcome to park freely in the area around the Hideaway. You will need a car to explore the area. In January and February, we recommend you have all,weather tyres., however roads are normally cleared if we have snow. We live close to the house, so we are on hand to help guests when required. After the initial show around we leave you to enjoy your stay. visit Aboyne, Cragievar Castle, Whiskey distillery trail at Speyside, Balmoral, Ballater, Braemar and Banchory, all a short drive from the house. Aberdeen 30 mins Westhill 20 mins bring a sturdy pair of walking boots and maps of the area, During lockdown, the house was refurbished, new en suite bathrooms and new soft furnishings in bedrooms and lounge areas. Recently added 85inch Sony smart TV in lounge and 3 Tetrad Buffalo Settees .. all,adding a bit of luxury to your stay
