I stayed in a King executive suite room for a week and althought the room was spacious and nice there were a few service issues. -1 star: upon check in I was given my key card and a bag of coins without any explanation as to where the elevators were or what I was to do with the bag of coins. No explanation of where the restaurants/spa/gym were. I was the only person in line as the front desk was not very busy. -1 star: I requested an international converter for my curler and it burned out the electrical on my brush dryer. I stayed at numerous 5 star hotels in Bangkok (St Regis, Mandarin Oriental, Waldorf) and the service just cannot compare. With my previous stays I felt pampered as the staff made sure I knew where I was going (especially after flying for 20 hours) and never had issues with their converters. Also the bathroom floor was slimy as if the cleaning solution hadn't been properly wiped off. I like to try new hotels but I think I will stick with the timeless 5 star hotels as they really do know what they're doing. It truly is the little things that can make your stay Fabulous or "just alright".
