Walking is practical only within short stretches (Pines Village, marina, nearby beaches). Public transit is very limited: regional shuttle services and seasonal shuttles (YARTS/other operators) run to/from gateway towns (Oakhurst, Mariposa, Merced/Fresno) at limited frequencies; local taxi/ride‑hail availability is sparse. Park-and-walk, on-site docks or rented boats are common for lake access.
