Nice place, great location

The Indigo is a very nice hotel. It is located within easy walking distance of central Bath and the river. It is in a fine historic building. The service is good with a friendly staff and a concierge. While the interior decorating is pleasant, some of the wall art seems rather dated and unnecessary disturbing with old family style portraits of aristocracy with monkey or horse heads or with their faces painted out. While I appreciate the attempt at kitsch, I think the images could be replaced with something either more modern or more traditional and attractive. They started to disturb me after a while. A particularly nice aspect are the beautifully tiled bathrooms. Overall a good quality experience.

The hotel staff was extremely hospitable. The breakfast that was bought with the room was simply fantastic (in most hotel it is an overprice affair; here it was excellent, varied and plentiful). The restaurant staff was also extremely helpful and equally hospitable. The rooms were interestingly decorated and comfortable but also different from the typical bland hotel rooms. The hotel offers many uniquely attractive features that we enjoyed it very much. Overall a great and fun experience.

Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are decent size and well ventilated. Going to the rooms is a brief walk from the reception, although you can use the garden to access the rooms. The gym is good, with the usual equipment and it’s in working condition! Breakfast is delicious and fresh. From the menu you can choose from a variety of hot options. Location is central to restaurants, shops and the Roman bath. There were a buses along the road and train slightly further up (well within walking distance) and more restaurants around it.

For those travelling by train, this hotel is very close to the station. It’s near all the attractions but away from the busy crowds. Very quiet! We appreciated the pleasant, efficient staff and enjoyed our stay.

Beauriful Bath Hotel.

Wonderful stay. Indigo is an amazing and quirky hotel and centrally located. Staff are very friendly and heloful. Unfortunately our room wasn't serviced after our first night or I would give 5 * for service. We were out from 8 am to 5.45 so there was plenty of opportunity. We asked for fresh towels and tea bags in lieu. I don't blame the hotel, just the person who didn't fulfil their duties. Unexpected.

I was twice told that my suitcase would be in my room. Once when I checked in a bit early and couldn’t go to my toom yet. When I returned and was given my room number and key I was told your suitcase is in your room. Both times untrue. Rang reception after 15 minutes to be told 'We're very busy and over a hundred rooms!!' Very rude and snappy without a thought of an apology. In the end I went and collected my suitcase. They then offered to bring it to my room when I was there at reception collecting it anyway!!! £303 a room with officious non existing service.

The hotel is an interesting mix of rooms cobbled together from various connected properties. It's very conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the train station and just on Abbey Square. Our room was a reasonable size with a comfortable king size bed, nice linens and very clean. The decor was somewhat outdated and very dark. The bathroom was small but newly renovated. Our view was less than interesting. We faced a stone wall and construction from next door. The staff are more than helpful and very welcoming. They gave us excellent recommendations for pubs and restaurants and were immediately responsive to any issues. Although difficult to navigate (up an elevator, down a hall, down an elevator, etc.) we did manage to find a side door that bypassed much of that travel to get in and out of the building(s). The restaurant (Beau) was great. We had a lovely dinner there.

A great stay in a most walkable city

The purpose of this trip was to learn about the city of Bath; I stayed five nights at the Hotel Indigo Bath. The hotel was a five minute walk from the station. At check in, it was clear to me that friendly, professional service was the goal. My room was among the loveliest I have enjoyed in all my world travels. It was part of their architectural series, and the space and textures and light created a restful and very pretty room. The staff knew the answers to all my questions. Remember that the hotel is a part of the community surrounding it, so there is some street noise. The restaurant is comfortable, and the food prepared and presented well. I wished the menu were slightly larger. I look forward to my next visit to Bath. I will definitely return to the Hotel Indigo.
