We Made Lemonade With a Lemon
We had a wonderful time for a week despite some of the property’s shortcomings. On the positive side, they redecorated the living room, dining nook and outdoor spaces with better furniture than the photos on the website, which was a nice surprise. But they stopped short and did nothing in what can only be described as an efficiency kitchen that is dated and every cabinet dirty (greasy and gritty) and cheaply stocked with dime-store cookware. The refrigerator was ample but froze and ruined any fruit and vegetables you put in it.When we checked in the keys did not work. It turned out, the owner changed the locks to combination locks without even advising the realtor. It was a bummer way to start our vacation, but it turned out it was par for the course. I’ve never rented a property at the Jersey Shore that did not Include beach tags. Pretty cheap on an overpriced property like this.But I have to give extraordinary high marks to our realtor — Elaine Atlee from Zack’s Realty — who came to the rescue when we were on the beach without tags and lent us 2 of hers … for the entire week. Now that is service!!!Lastly, this property has no privacy when you use the outdoor spaces— front or back. The upstairs owner in residence the week we were there were extraordinarily inconsiderate — vacuuming at 7:30 am almost every morning, lead-footed children pounding up and down the hallway at 6 am, using an air blower and spraying sand and dog hair on us below … you get the drift!!!!
