Thelma’s House is a spacious, single-storey cottage at Elwick Farm Cottages situated on the coast near Belford, Northumberland, offering a perfect getaway for families or small groups.

With four bedrooms sleeping up to seven guests, it provides a comfortable base for exploring this stunning region. The cottage features a cosy living room with an electric fire and TV, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploration. The open-plan kitchen/dining area is well-equipped with modern amenities, including a dishwasher and washing machine. There is a super kingsize bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a further twin bedroom, and a single bedroom. An additional main bathroom with a shower, toilet and a separate toilet room add convenience for larger groups. Outside, Thelma’s House boasts a large enclosed lawned garden, complete with a summerhouse, garden furniture and a barbecue – perfect for alfresco dining or relaxing in the peaceful rural surroundings.

Just a short drive away, Bamburgh Beach offers stunning views of the castle. For a memorable day out, take a boat trip from Seahouses to the Farne Islands. A visit to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is recommended. Elwick Farm runs down to Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and is in the Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). This stunning area, stretching 100 miles from Berwick to the south, is a designated haven for wildlife and an important nesting and breeding site. A footpath leads from the property to the shore and a wildlife observation hut, just a 15-minute walk away offering stunning views of Holy Island. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking along the Northumberland Coast Path. History lovers will appreciate Bamburgh Castle, or take a trip to Alnwick Castle, famous for its Harry Potter connections. Berwick upon Tweed boasts a stunning estuary location with historical walls, a boat trip is recommended from the Quayside, up the river Tweed or out to sea. A local pub is within 3 miles, and there are several restaurants in the area offering delicious seafood and traditional Northumberland dishes.
