The Chuckanut Trail Studio s a "rustic-chic" retreat literally steps from Bellingham's Interurban Trail & Larrabee State Park. It is conveniently located, on a quiet side street, off scenic Chuckanut Drive, and only a 3.5-mile drive or 20-minute bike ride to the Fairhaven Historic District. Locale specifically offers world class trail access for hiking and biking, boutique shops, galleries, microbreweries, entertainment/music venues, plus interesting farm to table dining options. Located along the desirable south side of Bellingham, it is uniquely positioned close in to town amenities but rural enough to get back to nature along the Chuckanuts or Skagit Valley.
The charming detached, studio cottage, with loft, once an artist retreat, features views of Chuckanut Bay, nestled among Firs & Pacific Madrone trees, with private drive and convenient trail access. It is perfect for a couple’s romantic getaway, or a weekend of outdoor adventures the area is famous for: trail runs, dog walking, hiking Fragrance/Lost Lake, mountain biking the Ridge trail, or exploring the Salish Sea by kayak/boat. Snowboarding/skiing Mt. Baker is just over an hour drive, golf getaways at nearby Lake Padden, or mountain biking Chuckanut or Galbraith literally minutes away, or enjoy our many gastropubs/microbrews or local oysters. It is also a great location for families who are visiting nearby Western Washington University, Chuckanut Trails Studio is your ideal retreat for all seasons!
Coziness and warmth radiate from acacia hardwood floors, knotty cedar ceilings, gas-wood stove, stone and iron accents. Get creative with simple meals in your own gourmet galley, complete with gas cooktop, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, Nespresso, or become a “localvore” at a number of unique eateries, craft markets, or even shellfish farm down the road. Ground level sleeping accommodations include a queen-sized solid oak Murphy bed with high-quality memory foam mattress, flanked with ample storage and pantry. When the bed is retracted, a clever fold down table doubles as dining or workstation in an open floor plan to maximize space. The sitting area features a pull-out couch, bistro style dining table, 42” Smart HD satellite television and high-speed internet. There is also a 75-square foot carpeted open space loft for yoga, relaxation, or reading. There is a single, heated-tiled bathroom with shower. There are two entryways, one through private single car garage (use for vehicle, or additional storage for mountain bikes, kayaks or other "toys") and or a slider that leads to your own outdoor flagstone patio, flanked by local sourced sandstone boulders,
