Benalmádena Costa is the beachfront area, known for its promenade, restaurants, shops and the well-known Puerto Marina. Arroyo de la Miel is the town centre and transport hub, offering a more local atmosphere with excellent shopping, cafés, supermarkets and direct train connections. Benalmádena Pueblo, located slightly inland, is a traditional Andalusian village with whitewashed streets, a quieter pace and beautiful views.
Benalmádena offers a wide range of restaurants, tapas bars, cafés and beach chiringuitos, as well as supermarkets, pharmacies, medical centres and international schools. There are plenty of leisure options, including beaches, the marina, golf courses, parks and nearby walking trails. Transport connections are very good, with the C-1 train line linking Benalmádena directly to Málaga city, the airport and Fuengirola, as well as easy access to the A-7 coastal road. Many residents and visitors find it easy to get around without a car, especially in coastal areas and around Arroyo de la Miel.

Benalmádena has several interurban bus lines that run near Avenida Mar y Sol. These connect you with local areas and neighbouring towns like Torremolinos, Málaga, Mijas and Fuengirola. Lines that serve the wider area include M-110, M-112, M-120, M-121, M-123 and M-126 (routes and stops vary by direction).
There isn’t a large central bus station, but local stops (e.g., near Benalmádena Costa, Puerto Marina / Benalmar) provide access to buses along the coast.
Trains (RENFE Cercanías)
The C-1 train line runs frequently along the coast between Málaga and Fuengirola, stopping at two stations in Benalmádena:
Benalmádena-Arroyo de la Miel (main station)
Torremuelle (closer to the coast)
From either station, you can walk or take a local bus/taxi to Avenida Mar y Sol. Trains run roughly every 20 minutes.
