We had a most enjoyable 2 weeks holiday staying at the property. The location suited us perfectly in this spectacular part of the country, the owners were more than helpful with answering any questions we had and offered us a lot of useful information about the region. The property listing matched our expectations and we have no hesitation in recommending it as a desirable place to stay.

Perfection

Pure delight! Philippe and Magali's gite is absolute rest and relaxation in the heart of a beautiful and historically rich area of France. My husband, two children (ages 8 and 11 years), and I had the privilege of staying for two weeks. It was located within 30 minutes of so many things to do - castles, caves, canoeing, bastide towns, and so much more. We enjoyed exploring the area during the day and coming back to relax by the pool in the late afternoon and evening. After that, the barbecue allowed us to enjoy duck, foie gras burgers, and steak. Our trips to local markets at Sarlat and Saint-Cyprien stocked us with charcuterie, cheese, and wine as well. The home had all the essentials including air conditioning in the bedrooms, which made for a wonderfully restful sleep at night. Additionally, Philippe and Magali's warmth made us feel so at home and welcome - almost like old friends. They were very helpful with suggestions about the area. They were also open to sharing conversations with us that helped us learn more about French culture and perspectives. The idyllic setting, gracious owners, and modern comforts were exactly what we needed to recharge during our summer holiday. Thank you, Magali and Philippe! Perfection!

Gite fantastique

J'espère que mon français est assez bon. C'est un mot. Fantastique. Magali et Phillipe sont des hôtes très accueillants, leur gîte est cool et convivial et la vue sur le château depuis la piscine est tout simplement magnifique In a word. Fantastic. Magali and Phillipe are such welcoming hosts, their gite cool and homely and the view of the chateau from the pool, just beautiful.

Rustic Gite - very relaxing location

Had a lovely weeks stay here - visiting numerous surrounding towns / historic sites / attractions until mid afternoon and then chilling by the pool. Lovely owners who live opposite (Phillips speaks great English) and full of ideas of what to do/ see.

A wonderful summer in Berbiguieres

The "little house" is a compact Gite over 2 floors nestled into the very pretty village of Berbiguieres. It has all that you need for a good family holiday for 4 and is only 5km from the nearest town of St-Cyprien. The property owners live just on the other side of the very quiet lane and are exceptionally welcoming and full of ideas for things to do and places to eat. There is also a good BBQ which we used on many evenings. The pool is of a good size and very warm (mainly due to the very warm weather while we were there). The wild life in the area is terrific and this kept us thoroughly entertained in the evenings. All in all a terrific holiday for us and we would thoroughly recommend staying in this property.

Perfect hosts and perfect location

Excellent stay in this beautiful little village. All the attractions of the Dordogne were a short drive away. The owners Philippe and Magali are great hosts - very welcoming, they do their upmost to make sure you have a perfect stay and they are a great source of local knowledge and recommendations.

Lovely stay in quaint location

Superb location for our 5 night stay. Easy access to all the sights of the Dordogne. Magali and Phillipe were great hosts and gave lots of useful information on where to go and what to see. Only negative was that the pool was closed for repairs, perhaps would have been better to let us know before we arrived just to manage our expectations. Otherwise excellent.

A great escape

We had a wonderful week at the 'Little House' in Berbiguieres. Phillipe and Magali couldn't have been more kind. The house is a perfect base to explore the surrounding area which has many gorgeous places to visit. The kids loved coming back to the fantastic pool in the afternoon. Couldn't recommend highly enough and hope to be back again.

Beautiful, peaceful and a very warm welcome from Magali and Philippe.

This is a lovely property in a beautiful and very peaceful location. The pool is great and accommodation clean and comfortable. Magali and Philippe live next door and were very welcoming and helpful but never intrusive. The village does feel quite atmospheric and medieval and is very well placed for exploring the Dordogne. As a family of four we really loved our stay!

Phillipe and Magali were very helpful in answering our questions about the locality, whether to fill in gaps in the guide book, or recommend something - which we always agreed with when we got there. Charming house, well equipped, direct access to a lovely pool with a picturesque view.

My family and I spent a wonderful two weeks relaxing and adventuring from this property. The house is well equipped and comfortable. The out side dining area is so peaceful that if you keep watch of the forest you can see roe deer while you sit back and enjoy an evening meal. Pool is a good size clean and toys are supplied if you have little ones traveling. The hosts live on site but are unobtrusive and only there when required. They have a good knowledge of the local area and can provide you with local knowledge of the best things to do and see. While being in a very quiet hamlet you are less than ten minutes from Saint Cyprien which is a bustling town with all the shopping and markets you could require. From this location you are very close to towns like Sarlat-la-Caneda, Beynac and Domme. There are lots of canoeing, tree climbing and other outdoor opportunities very close at hand. There are several walking trails available from the village which are very scenic. Having spent many years coming to this area of the Dordogne I can honestly say that this was the best location for both peace and quiet but also easy travelling time to the big attractions of the area. A most enjoyable holiday.

Great property in beautiful location

We had an amazing 2 weeks in 'La petit maison'. Our kids loved the heating pool whilst we enjoyed the quietness and beauty of the location. Berbiguieres is a great base to explore the countless interesting places of the Dordogne. If you are unsure which castle, cave and market to visit speak to the kind gite owners who have been very helpful. Real highlights for us this year were the marches gourmand in various towns nearby (Belves, St Cyprien and others) - take your own plates, cutlery and glasses and buy your dinner (French, Italian, Chinese etc.) at a night market. Benches and tables are provided. The atmosphere is amazing and it is a real mix of cultures and flavours. We highly recommend this property, the owners and the area to which we are hoping to return to again soon.

Super semaine

Nous cherchions une semaine au calme pour profiter d être en famille et c est l endroit idéal. Une maison authentique de la région, une super piscine et de nombreuses activités a proximité (châteaux, canoë, marchés régionaux…). Une petite chaumière à Berbiguières

Tres bel endroit d'un calme appréciable avec une belle piscine Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques,à l'écoute de nos questions, nous laissent profiter de leurs fruits du verger. Berbiguières est vraiment bien situé ,proches des plus beaux sites( Beynac, les jardins de Marqueyssac, la Roque Gageac, Sarlat, le château des Milandes,...). Tout est fait pour passer de merveilleuses vacances. Je recommande,merci à Magali et Philippe.

Dépaysement assuré

C'est un endroit où il fait bon vivre, l'endroit est un vrai dépaysement, c'est juste magnifique... L'accueil de Philippe et Magali a été top, ainsi que le départ, ils étaient présents tous les deux et soucieux de savoir si notre séjour s'était bien passé ainsi que tout au long du séjour, avec des rendez-nous journaliers autour de la piscine, très agréable. Autour du gîte, tout ce qu'il faut pour faire ses courses et autres Énormément de petits villages, de visites, un endroit très riche ! Le gîte en lui même est parfait, entièrement fonctionnelle, joliment décoré et équipée ! Et quelle vue....sur la piscine et le petit village !
