Excellent location in the heart of Bergen’s historic centre. The hotel was clean and comfortable with attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options available on the buffet. The light meal in the evening (included in our stay) was just what we needed, and far better and tastier than we thought it would be.

We stayed twice, the second time for a week. The staff is friendly and competent. The location is great -- easy walk to most of the major sites, right on the harbor, near several bus lines, and the bus to the airport stops right next to the hotel. The location is convenient enough that we used it instead of public toilets (which can be difficult to find, and may be pay WCs). There is a grocery store and several eateries nearby, from fast and cheap to gourmet and pricey. The hotel serves a nice breakfast buffet with reasonable hours. The selection is quite good. Patrons with allergies, who avoid gluten, and vegans will find choices for them. In many Norwegian hotels, breakfast is included in the price of the room, but what is rare is that dinner and a late afternoon snack are also included here. The snack is usually just a small square of cake (although you can help yourself to more) plus coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. We skipped the snack more often than not, though. It was okay, but not particularly impressive, and we were usually out and about at that time. Dinner is meant to be light, but it was sufficiently satisfying for us. There are usually several different salads, a couple of hot entrees and sides, plus a soup. And if course, there's always great Norwegian bread. They change the entrees every night. The food was good, and it was convenient to have dinner available, plus it saves quite a bit of money. Americans should ask how the thermostat works -- it's different.

The staff was very accommodating. We had an issue parking a rental car where they said it could be parked and they kept taking care of it. For our troubles our room was upgraded and that was very nice of them. The hotel is clean, the breakfast was delicious and the location is very convenient to many of the attractions. Thank you

Beautifully decorated facility. The rooms are very nice and comfortable beds. Price includes breakfast, afternoon sweet, and dinner. The food at the breakfast buffet is very good with lots of choices and options; plus, caters to many dietary needs. Very friendly staff. Walking to markets, restaurants, and shopping. The hotel is on a bus route and and the harbour front is across the street. Walking distance to the cruise ships.

Unqyestionably the best location in Bergen. Hotel is uniquely set up, with alcoves, hidden corners and rooms, elegant stairways and a huge, deco lobby. Being remodelled takes its toll, and some of the staff, while willing are clearly inexperienced. Room had not one drawer, shelf or hanger, and lights in bathroom did not work. The food, however, far exceeded my every expectation. . . and it was free!

The hotel has a high tower with a grand view of the city, but you have to ask for the key at the front desk. Food was good, and it's very convenient to know that dinner is waiting for you when you've had a long day The staff are friendly and highly competent. Right now, there's some renovation going on in the lobby, so it doesn't look its best. But we haven't had any problems with noise. Lots of interesting things to see and do within walking distance. This is our second stay here, and we would definitely stay again.

Great hotel

The staff were super helpful. Especially as they let us eat a meal 5 minutes before last orders. Room is compact as per booking but plenty big enough for an over night stay. The bed was so comfortable! Breakfast is included and was perfect. Definitely recommend this hotel sitting on the quayside in old bergen

Home hotel was under renovation when we visited however the staff were very good at making the best of the situation and we had a very enjoyable stay. The breakfast and dinner options were very good with a wide selection of dishes available. The meals were by no means gourmet, but substantial and comforting in a home cooked way.

The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The hotel was very comfortable and though some refurbishment was going on it didn’t affect our stay….strong smell of paint in our room on the last few nights of our stay which wasn’t pleasant….i have asthma and thankfully it didn’t cause me any issues, just preferred the lovely scent in the room on our arrival. We had a delux room which was spacious and comfortable, especially the bed. Shower cubicle was a little on the small side and a bit flimsy but the pressure more than made up for this. The breakfast choice was wonderful and though the evening meal, including soup, could’ve done with being hot rather than warm (ish sometimes), the choice was ok and overall very good value. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Bergen. The location was excellent and in a quiet location.

Very nice stay and would recommend. Biggest unique feature was the price of the room included buffet breakfast and a light dinner. Food was quality. sauna was great, room was fine, bed comfortable, location excellent, customer service /staff was wonderful, wifi was mostly fine, fitness area very limited. I would stay here again if I go to Bergen again and the price is right. Thank you for the wonderful stay in Bergen!
