The apartment was clean. It is a short, 15 minute walk to the city center in a quiet neighborhood, but the apartment looks onto a busy street, so the whooshing of cars speeding over the bridge is a constant backdrop.There is a nice cafe a 5 minute walk away and a market 10-15 minutes away.One reason I chose the apartment is that it features a washer and dryer. When I transferred the laundry to the dryer, however, I noticed that it was not plugged in. To confirm that it was okay to plug it in, we asked the owner, who responded an hour later that it was fine to do so. What he didn’t tell us is that the drum is broken and doesn’t rotate, so we discovered the following morning that the clothes were still quite damp. Fortunately, there was a clothes rack. Our annoyance could have been mitigated had he been upfront and explained that that was why the appliance was unplugged.The kitchen appliances are stored above the cabinets, including a coffee maker, but he could have left a half dozen filters.
