The Amos Coggin River House is set in the woods along the banks of the Androscoggin River, a place that inspires both relaxation AND adventure with each passing season. . .
Located in a premier river front location within the community of Jordan Woods, the Amos Coggin River House offers miles of scenic trails right from our door via the IT system and Mahoosuc Land Trust. This affords our guests the opportunity to explore the woods and riverside by foot or bike in the warmer months or by snowmobile, xc skis, snowshoes OR fat tire bikes all winter long! We are less than 15 minutes from world class skiing at Sunday River, and within ten minutes to Bethel's 'Norman Rockwell - like' Main Street for fine dining, unique shops, and seasonal shows and fairs. You will also find grocery and hardware stores, banks, a small movie theater and brand new bowling alley and bar.
We are set on the banks of the river, so a trip here would not be complete without a paddle down the Androscoggin via kayak or canoe in the spring and summer months. Shuttle service is available for a small fee through the Bethel Adventure Center for 2 hour to all day excursions. . We can also provide information for setting up an L.L. Bean adventure package to learn about water sports and archery at our location.
The fall season is absolute paradise as there is no prettier place for leaf peeping with many charted drives in and around Bethel and the western mountains of Maine up through to Rangeley. The Oxford Casino is under an hour away for nightlife and entertainment, and North Conway , NH, is also under an hour for the best of outlet shopping and some foliage touring along the way. The best of both worlds!

Beautiful Bethel Cabin

Beautiful cabin, in quiet wooded neighborhood, with tons of walking/biking trails, and beautiful views. My family enjoyed all of the space and comforts provided at this property. The hot tub was a great bonus! 5 stars will definitely be booking again!

Great space for a family ski trip

My family of 8 people stayed here for our yearly ski trip at Sunday River. The location was great at the end of a beautiful, quiet dead end street, within 20 min to the mountain. The space was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Over it was a great experience!

Great vacation home

House was exactly as advertised. Plenty of space, very clean, great kitchen with newer appliances and a well decorated main living area. The lower level was a big hit with our group with a large entertainment area and ping pong table. Hot tub was also great after a long day of skiing or hiking. Highly recommended!

We had a great week in Bethel and had everything we needed here for an enjoyable, family vacation. The house was perfect for us and the dog! We walked the trails every day. We enjoyed our stay for the 2nd year. This really is the perfect Sunday River house. The house is gorgeous and has everything we need. The location is a short drive to Sunday River. Ski getaway

We had an amazing weekend at this house. The house is absolutely spotless, probably the cleanest rental house I have ever seen, especially for being dog friendly! The house is fully stocked and has a beautiful comfortable lay out. It’s perfectly situated for the mountain and town. The hot tub was amazing. Would 10/10 recommend to a friend and come back!

Perfect summer getaway

The Amos Coggin house was perfect for our summer getaway! It was a quick walk to the river for fishing and splashing around and a short drive to Bethel outdoor adventure for gem finding and kayaking. We also found some beautiful swimming holes and waterfalls along the Sunday River. The hot tub, fire pit and ping pong table provided lots of evening entertainment. Gina was a great host and made sure our stay was enjoyable!

Perfect little getaway!

This was exactly what we needed. A little snowy cabin getaway right on the snowmobile trail and Androscoggin river making it easy to enjoy out the outdoors right from the doorstep! The jacuzzi was the perfect way to unwind after the kiddos went to bed! Would highly recommend and would definitely return! :)

Awesome Ski Week!!

We were a group of 7 (2 families) and had an amazing week! The house was exactly as listed with all the amenities needed. The house and property were private, inviting and very relaxing. Holidays in Maine

This is a lovely property. It is very close to Sunday River and made skiing for a half day and full day easy. The first floor is so inviting and everything you need for family time and an easy lay out for cooking and watching the games. The downstairs is perfect for teens, the ping pong table is perfect. The walk to the river is easy even in snow and our dog had a ball running on the trail.

Great Ski house for skiing at Sunday River

We have returned 3 times to this house because its a beautiful house with all of the amenities you can think of. Gina always responds quickly to any communications. The house, is clean, well stocked and provides lots of entertainment like walks in the woods, hot tub and ping pong. The kitchen is well stocked and big enough to enjoy a family dinner. We will definitely be back again!

Amos Coggin House

This house is amazing! Gina was very quick to respond to all my questions. Check-in was a breeze. The house was immaculate and so beautifully furnished with a fully stocked kitchen.. The location is private with access to hiking trails and the river directly from the property. Our family and 2 dogs had so much fun hiking, swimming and relaxing! Can't wait to go back this fall/winter.

We really enjoyed staying here. The house was as advertised. Only issue we had was not understanding how to use the DISH satellite TV. Maybe put some instructions on the coffee table for those of us who are used to cable. Otherwise, everything was great.

Paradise in the woods

Fabulous couple of weeks in Maine. Our family of 4 + dog could not have been more relaxed and well cared for while at this property. The property manager has done an amazing job preparing the property and has thought of every detail, even treats for our dog! The house is very new and exceedingly clean. The house is about 100 yards from the Androscoggin River and also close to many trails. We would be more than pleased to return.

Property was immaculate. Great thought to detail. Everything you could ever need was at the house- great instructions re: arrival and checking in and expectationsfor departure. Gina was a great host with very fast response times with any questions or concerns. The house was beautifully decorated to match the season. Cozy blankets for the couch, extra pillows, anything you could possibly need in the kitchen.... every room was well thought out. This is the best VRBO we've ever stayed at. Perfect location- quiet and easy access to Sunday river. We'll definitely be back again!
