The original Bears Lair is across the street from the Bear Mountain ski area, and just 2 houses down, you can enter the ski areas side entrance by the rental building right next to the lodge. The view spans from the lodge to the top of Jeronimo.

This 1100 sq. ft., 3 bedroom (all with queen beds), 2 bath cabin/home is perfect if you want to get up in the morning and stroll onto the ski area. No parking a mile away and being shuttled to the parking lot then back to your car at the end of the day. Instead, while groups of people are waiting for shuttles, you’ll already be strolling across the street and onto the slopes in the morning, then in the afternoon you'll already be sitting on the large deck, thinking about what to throw on the BBQ, while watchng the sun set over the mountains behind the lodge.

In the winter, you’ll have a view of all the excitement going on at the ski area. Even the occasional concert.
And during the off season, you would be hard pressed to find a more peaceful and quiet spot to have a relaxing (or maybe romantic) get away.
Spend your days at the lake and in the town of Big Bear, then return to a peaceful retreat.

Is this place the fanciest place in Big Bear…. Certainly not. We keep the place decorated in the theme of the good ole days of skiing and snowbording, with knotty pine ceilings, skis, sleds and toboggans from days gone by mounted on the walls, comfortable furniture, and even Select Comfort bed warmers in each room. It’s a quaint, comfortable and relaxing enviorment, with nice furniture and a glass front wood burning stove in the living room along with everything you need in the kitchen. (and unlike most rentals, we have plenty of wood for the fireplace in the back yard). No need to spend 8 bucks to get a bundle of wood that will peter out before you finish your first glass of wine.

Most pets are welcome here, though if you have a support Boa Constrictor, we'd appriciate it if you do a head check in your car before leaving.
