Carmichael Estate is Scotland's oldest family farming business at the source of the name Carmichael. We have 10 quality assured self-catering cottages dotted around the peaceful Estate amongst the woodlands and hills. Situated between Lanark and Biggar, yet only 50 minutes from Glasgow and Edinburgh we provide an ideal touring base for southern Scotland. Cottage guests are encouraged to "eat the farm" in our Farmhouse Clan Kitchen bistro. Our produce is also available in our Farm shop. A truly Agri Tourism experience. Pets welcome.

What a magical place. The cottage itself is very charming and supremely cozy (if you can accept interior design that not bothered in the slightest by the dernier cri); the vast Carmichael property, on which it is located, with its paddocks, forests, mystical ruins and a dog cemetery holds enough beauty and enough secrets to uncover for weeks, and everyone we came in contact with was very friendly. Highly recommended, hope to be coming back at some point.
Schönes Cottage mitten in der Natur. Sehenswürdigkeiten zwischen Glasgow und Edinburgh sind gut zu erreichen. Das Haus ist sauber und aufgeräumt und mit allem ausgestattet was zur Sebstverpfegung nötig ist. Hervorzuheben ist der Glasfaser Anschluss eine super Anbindung ins Internet. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war problemlos.
Wow what an amazing experience we had at East twin cottage carmichael, the property is a little dated but very clean and in an amazing location. We had deer field for our back garden and we even witnessed a deer give birth just meters away from us on quite morning! They people who run the business are so friendly and helpful. The bistro is a must as food is amazing and the owners are so friendly and even sat and had a drink with us after closing! Directly in front of the cottage behind trees is a old ruin which dates back 1560s. The walks are also a must especially the walk to the old haunted house and also pond cottage which is beautiful and sadly by one review could be overlooked. When we walked to the haunted house 2 wild deer litrally jumped out straight in front of us which is a privilege in itself! I would definitely recommend the estate for any countryside lover or just someone who wishes peace and quite. There is some lovely villages to explore nearby including Biggar and Lanark. Lanark being the larger with lots of restaurants and shops on being the Inn on the loch with lovely views and food. Will definitely be visiting again soon i hope!! 5 stars
