Great location, but easy to miss within the heart of old Bilbao. Be aware that it’s within a pedestrian area so if in a rented vehicles park at the nearby underground parking which is approximately 10 minutes walk away.

Check in was difficult. We had no idea what to do to get into our room. We finally called expedia who called the the Casual property where two young women were able to help us. Then the door to the room would not open and we had to go back to get one of the women to help. The lock was jammed and there continued to be times when it stuck room 108. Overall we are quite happy despite the frustrating beginning.

Great location, nice design apart from the woman hanging over the bed. Free coffee and friendly check in. Noisy nightlife just below, but we knew that. Internal soundproofing could also be better. Mind you - public overnight parking in Bilbao is €21

The property has a unique style. Each room is decorated differently with a throwback to Bilbao's cultural and industrial past. Very convenient for the old town bars and pintxos

In the heart of Bilbao's Old Town. Lots to see and do nearby. By all means, use the free noise reducing ear plugs provided as the night life outside of the hotel can get raucous deep into the wee hours of the night.

Fabulous boutique hotel - lovely rooms with good facilities and a little balcony. All the staff were so helpful with anything I needed or had questions about. Amazing location in the old town and seconds/minutes to bars, restaurants and key sites. I had an amazing time and highly recommend this hotel. Would definitely stay again.

The key redeeming factor is location. You really are in the heart of it. However, you are also crammed into a tiny bedroom with hardly any room to walk around the foot of the bed, framed - quite literally - by Picasso's Guernica nightmare scene. Not very soothing! It's also pretty noisy at night - so best you join the party (we did)! There's also no parking - but that's fair enough - they never said they would be. Expect to pay another Eu20/day for that and ready yourself for the 1/2 km walk with luggage.

One step up from a hostel

The main reason for my poor rating is the bed sheets. They were so rough it felt like I was lying on sand paper. I finally took them off the bed and slept wrapped in the duvet. Bilbao is damp, and the hotel didn’t was dehumidifiers. I’d wake in the morning to a room where everything was wet. So wet I thought the roof must be leaking. There is limited reception staff (no problem), but I was there 2 days before I saw anyone who worked there, and could ask for sheets that might be a bit softer. The answer was “no!”.

This quirky little pension in Bilbao's old town was only a 10-minute walk from the the main railway station and less than five from the nearest bus stop. But be prepared for walking up the 2 flights of stairs to the pension entrance. No double glazing, so sounds from outside carry - light sleepers should come equipped with earplugs. The pension is on a relatively quiet street with the nearest bar some 50 metres away. But the bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom (walk-in shower, not a bath) a good size and well equipped, efficient reception staff and an overall friendly vibe, with plenty of places to eat and drink close by. I'd happily stay there again, the next time I'm in Bilbao.
