For a Brummy, returning to the city was just the balm I had hoped it would be. It was my partners 1st introduction to the city I was born and raised and educated in. I was overjoyed to stay in a place that my forefathers had visited on many occasion. The room, historically met all my expectations. It’s 700 year plus history evident in its architecture. The facilities were good, but expect warped floorboards and creaky walls and corridor. The area that the Crown is situated in leads on to the Art quarter of the city and was interesting and informative as well as beautiful to behold. A fantastic stay. I would return again, in fact, I would never stay anywhere else. .

Peaky Blinders tour

We stayed in the Crown as we were attending the Peaky Blinders tour, which was first class. The room was huge, very comfortable and excellent value for money. Our only grumbles were that there were no coffees we did ask at the bar but it wasn't replenished. We went to look for some and found a Peaky Blinder on the landing!! He soon found us some. The bathroom could do with a mirror too, hubby was unable to shave. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The appearance of a Peaky Blinder added to the atmosphere. Thank you Roy.

Quirky and friendly inn.

Pros: Friendly busy inn with extremely helpful staff.
Cons: The inn as advertised is old with lots of character so nothing could be improved. Even the sharing of the bathroom was surprisingly satisfactory.
Location: In a lively location within walking location to the city centre and all its facilities.
An e;joyable weekend in a quirky inn within walking distance of city centre. Excellent breakfast, real value for the money. Free car parking.

Good location for what we wanted

Pros: As above
Cons: Nothing really my expectation ain't high so it was fine for me.
Location: Digbeath, used to be a lot of clubbing around there, not far from city.
We only stayed 18hrs as was going to a festival near by. For £50 for two of us with parking and a fair breakfast was good value. Room small but it was only to sleep, bathroom down the hall so might have given someone a fright in the night in my boxers. Nice staff, decent pub, will stay again if going to an adventure in Brumby.
