The location is within walking distance of the town centre and is close to the promenade.
The room was spacious and extremely clean.
We didn’t see any staff because this hotel is a let yourself in place, we were given a number to use for the front entrance and a separate one for our room, plus a telephone number for if we struggled.
We were pleasantly surprised for the amount we paid, perfectly adequate for a budget room for a night away.
Arrived around 20 minutes before check in. This ‘hotel’ is not staffed and entry is gained by a key code at the entrance, and then the room key is obtained by putting another key code. On opening the key safe for room 9 there was no room key. What followed was numerous phone calls to the hotel mobile (no landline number) that went to answer phone. Sent a text message and again no answer. Therefore we decided to book another hotel nearby. Around an hour and a half after check in time he eventually called me back and apologized saying he had fallen asleep! Said we had no choice but to book another hotel and I demanded a refund. This never happened. Complained to Hotels.com who put me on hold whilst they spoke to home. He denied having received a text message from me and Hotels.com accepted his word even though I explained I explained I could provide proof! Also the hotel was very poor indeed and had a strong foisty / dog smell as soon as you walked through the door.
