Off the check-in area you walk through a small opening toward the elevator. There is one elevator in a dimly lit area that includes the opened hotel laundry room that is a buzz of activity. The toilet in our room was not level and the tank did not fill after flushing, hence the toilet was unflushable. Phone did not connect to the front desk, so at 10:30 pm I had to go down and inform the attendant of the situation. She was apologetic and offered a new room down the hall. Upon arriving at the new room we found our door off plumb, so it was difficult to open and had to be shoved/slammed to close. This hotel accepts pets, which I can appreciate, but not so much so when the dog owners leave a pet alone for over 5 hours that has a propensity for barking. Phone didn’t connect to front desk, so had to go down to lobby again. She asked if I knew which room. I only knew direction of the barking. She found the one room on my floor with a dog. Upon calling the room, there was no answer (to no one’s surprise). She was apologetic and offered a new room, which I declined. Didn’t believe the 3rd time would be the charm.

Standard room that met expectations. Had standard equipment like microwave, fridge, and iron and hair dryer. Nice! Good hot breakfast that was maintained and well stocked. Very friendly staff that was competent and welcoming.

Nice staff and convenient location but disappointed in the room cleanliness. There was dog kibble on the carpet from the previous person in the room. I went to the front desk and asked them to clean while we were out. We were gone for over six hours and when we came back, the kibble was still there.

The building, including our room had a bad odor. The uncleanliness could be seen clearly on headboards, walls, etc. Even the TV had to be wiped off. Carpet was both damp and visibly filthy.

Choose this property since it was close to VA Tech. The first room smelled of mildew and we noticed black stains on ceiling. Second room had mold stains on walls, furniture was old and not well maintained, carpet needed a refresh, and my family regretted the stay (even though we were there for only 7 hours).
