old school charm with few amenities

The hotel staff was excellent and very attentive which added to the charm of this hotel. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the views were wonderful. The downside was they only had a portable A/C which did not cool the room off at all and you couldn't leave it on when using the hair dryer. The beds were also not very comfortable.

The perfect spot away from town. Quiet with an excellent view. Suite 9 has a huge bed and a private jacuzzi. Cleanliness is off the charts as is the service, really can’t ask for more. Quick walk to Yellow Kittens and Winfield’s but far enough away to avoid the noise. Already reserved for next year… this is the place, look no further. For the car guys - safe parking so you can bring your car without worry.

Magical/CLEAN/DREAM

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect since I had never been to Block Island but my fiancé has and told me just fyi all the inns are just older..etc. Coming into the inn it was so beautifully done, so much character every which way you turned, and the breakfast in the morning was so quaint like something out of a movie. The ROOM was incredible! We got the suite (room 9) the largest room they had and let me tell you it was LARGE! The room was so clean and the whole place smelled so clean (I am very OCD so I notice those things) but even my fiancé mentioned how clean it smelled there! The bed was insanely comfortable I can’t even begin to tell you. We have stayed a lot of places and this bed by far took the cake! I’ve never slept better! Whole place was magical and I would 100% return and stay at Payne’s again! **pics are blurry bc all I got was a video so I screenshot what I could.

Charming place in New Harbor

We enjoyed our visit to this clean, solid, accommodating inn. Lovely hosts run a charming place with a laid back vibe for a welcoming stay. Great spot with water views but it’s a mile walk or cab ride from Old Harbor ferry. (No Uber) Decent breakfast.

Block Island in the Fall is magical and the view from the backyard was magnificent. Check in was very quick and easy. Room was lovely with a comfortable bed and a small balcony. Great location - walking distance to town.
