Welcome to the lower level of this cozy log cabin nestled in the heart of the Aska Adventure Area! While the cabin itself is not directly on the river, it offers the best of both worlds: peaceful forest surroundings and quick access to the Toccoa River. A short, scenic 3-minute walk down the stairs, through the woods and across Aska Road brings you to a riverside deck where you can relax, fish, or simply enjoy the view.

Privacy & Hosts

From October to mid May, we (Jane and I) live in the upper portion of the cabin with our two small dogs. The rental unit is completely separate and private. We're happy to assist with local tips or questions during your stay. The rest of the year, we’re in Montana—but plans may shift depending on fire season. Either way, your comfort and privacy are always our top priority.

Kitchen Note

The unit does not have a conventional oven, but it includes a convection microwave, griddle, hot plate and crock pot. Also a propane BBQ and griddle combo. With great restaurants just minutes away, you might not want to cook at all—after all, you’re on vacation!
During your stay at this cabin, you're just a quick walk from Ocoee River. A hot tub and laundry facilities are available. The cabin includes amenities such as free WiFi and a kitchenette.

My husband and I came for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We just wanted to relax and unwind and we got to do exactly that. I had some reservations about staying here after reading some reviews about noise upstairs but I found that wasn’t a problem with our experience. Yes, you can hear footsteps above you but it wasn’t so disturbing that it would deter me from staying here again. There are no TV’s in the bedrooms which is not a problem unless you need the noise to sleep which my husband and I do. I brought my sound machine from home just in case and that did the trick. My sound machine also alleviated any noise I might have heard in the night from upstairs. The location here is perfect. If you don’t want to do a lot of driving you can park your car here and walk to do just about everything from eating, fishing, and sight seeing. There’s pretty much everything you need right here. If you get to meet Jane, the property owner, she is very kind! The bed was comfortable. The hot tub was nice and the fire pit was enjoyable also! We have no complaints. We’d definitely stay here again.

We had a wondering time - the location is perfect for most of the day trips you’d like to take in the area. The hot tub was a big hit with us and our daughter. Everything was tidy and clean - we did struggle without a full kitchen, but knew that was the case based on the listing, just something to consider if you like cooking for yourself. The beds were comfortable and the bunk bed was also a hit with our daughter. We could see the Toccoa River from the porch which was lovely and the cafe and gem mining place were easily within walking distance and everyone was very kind. We had the pleasure of meeting both Scott and Susan and they were lovely and wonderful hosts. Overall we loved it - if we’re ever back in the area we would definitely stay again.

Our stay was awesome! The space was clean and plenty big enough for my husband and our 6 year old. We didn’t even use one of the rooms! I loved The washer and dryer being available for our use. The hot tub was nice, though could have used more water in it and the jets need some work. The only real negative for this stay was the shower situation. The claw foot tub is beautiful and perfect for a bath, but a shower not so much. You had to have the shower curtain in with you all the way around, and the water didn’t drain well after a few minutes so you were standing in water and had shower curtain floating all on your feet. The view from the porch was nice, you could see the river. No unwanted noises around. Also, our drive to everything we wanted to do was around 15 minutes!

The decor was rustic, authentic, warm, and inviting, giving a cozy and intimate vibe! It’s 10 miles away from downtown where there are a variety of antique shops, art galleries, and restaurants.There are several wineries close by, along with various hiking trails or you can venture further to state parks and waterfalls.One of the most enjoyable aspects was relaxing in the hot tub after all the adventures!It was the most relaxing and fun vacation I’ve enjoyed!
