Great and fun place to stay

Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location (across the street from subway and bus line stations - right on Newberry Street, which is a very posh street in Boston) The rooms are very comfortable and clean. They are not large, but they use the space very efficiently. Fun view out of the rooms The restaurant is good, we really enjoyed breakfast. Fast Wi-Fi throughout the building Has a cool lobby, where a lot of people like to hang out Everything in the room is controlled through a tablet. It took us about 10 seconds to learn how to use it. Kind of fun to control everything that way. We did have one issue where the television kept coming on randomly. I unplugged the television and everything was fine. Of course, would like to see significant improvements in their sustainability practices.

Small room but contained all needed amenities. Great water pressure in shower and generously sized towels. Ability to control lighting, temperature, etc. right from the ipad near the bed. Appealing common areas with bevereages and books to borrow.

Great place!

Very small room but perfect for a couple getting away for a night or two, the most comfortable hotel bed and pillows! The bar was very nice too. The location is perfect (back bay) and the city view is beautiful. Will definitely stay again.

This is a property for wanna-be hipsters. It is a Japanese efficiency style hotel that is entirely virtual/ electronic. There is ZERO service for anything except the bar. The rooms are sized for small people or singles. The space looks cool, with interesting art, which is cool if you go to hotels for the decor. There is literally no space in your room, which is fine, if you know that going into it. We did not. The entire room is 1 king bed, 1 toilet/ shower. The bed fills the room so that there is one side for 2 people to enter. If you have to use the bathroom in the night, you literally crawl over your partner. It is like glamping in a slip-in camper or on a boat. The lack of service is inconvenient. No concierge to answer questions, no one to assist with technical difficulties; just you and your credit card and colorful monkey statues. You request cleaning on an iPad the day before, which we did, but no one cleaned our room. Someone finally knocked on the door to clean the room in the evening when we were back from dinner! This evening cleaning schedule also would have been good to know in advance. We ended up never having our room cleaned; clever system to avoid cleaning. We tried to just have them take the trash but the cleaner could not understand our request and the iPad would not do it for us. Overall, a goovy looking place, but we likely won't stay again. Not for those who prefer at least the option for some personal service and space.

My husband and I were attending an event at MIT and this hotel seemed like a cheaper alternative to the one we usually use that's closer to campus. I deducted a star because the room was way smaller than expected...the bed was against a window and between the walls. It felt like a cabin in a ship. There was no coffee maker in the room, although you could buy a coffee downstairs in the bar area. The biggest issue was that the TV monitor was mounted over the foot of the bed and wouldn't seem to turn off. An ipad remote controlled the TV, blinds, and lights and was not intuitive. It was pretty infuriating to have the monitor "wake up" anytime we moved. I think we even tried to disconnect the plug on the monitor, to no avail. My husband would click something and the blinds would immediately go up and all the lights would come on and we weren't prepared. Looking back, it was all pretty comical, but getting a good night's sleep and getting up to use the bathroom shouldn't be that hard. And no, we aren't "boomers".
