Hotel is superb. Room with private balcony exceptional. Hotel is in wonderful location. Beautiful gardens down to beachfront and only few minutes walk to the pier and gardens.
Staff so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Couldn’t fault the food, so much choice and delicious.
The location and venue are commendable. While some rooms may exhibit signs of aging, the staff efficiently facilitated a room exchange for a refurbished accommodation. Their service and attentiveness to clients are exemplary.
Beautiful nostalgic hotel overlooking the sea. Very quiet and relaxing, good service and immaculate room, clean and bright. Would definitely stay again if looking for a peaceful stay.
When to a wedding there it was beautiful, we had a wonderful time the hotel was amazing the only downside was £15 a night parking £5 would of been enough

Not Bad
Overall was good for the price, but the £15 a night parking fee seemed excessive. Room was clean except for the odd leftover food wrapper, no fridge and TV, kettle and other items supplied were very dated.
With rooms overlooking the sea and an easy walk down to the beach this is a lovely holiday hotel. I am biased as I have been visiting the Miramar for over 60 years.
The parking is good, but only accessible from Grove Road.
An oasis in the centre of Bournemouth, one awakes to birds singing and of course as one would hope the cry of gulls.
Very good for weddings, funerals and bar mitzvahs.
Very friendly, obliging and competent staff.
Lovely hotel and views are amazing, little bit dated in areas. Rooms are perfectly clean and comfortable but could do with a an update and aircon. As the far in the room is very noisy and doesn’t really help. Overall nice hotel for the money.
Very dated and old. The beds were super comfy.
Theyve had to add mattress toppers ontop of very tired and worn mattresses. However the topper didnt stop you feeling uncomfortable. Woke up with a sore neck, i wouldnt recommend this hotel for a decent nights sleep. Furthermore, you can hear evwrything loud and clear from people passing by the room, no sound proofing at all.
Only decent thing, is that the hotel is very convenient to the pier and beach.
Looks really good from outside - beautifully maintained garden frontage leading down towards cliff top road. Inside: All recently renovated / redecorated, clean and smart. Some rooms are cheaply fitted out, but 'Premier' rooms much better. Customer service - variable: restaurant staff were defensive, bordering on being rude, when misinformation in the menu was brought to their attention. Late into our first night a very loud and over amplified musician was entertaining in one of the reception rooms which made sleep impossible. Next morning, as compensation, we were offered complimentary breakfast and upgraded to a 'Premier' room located well away from the reception rooms (where another rowdy event occurred on our 2nd night). This worked such that we heard no noise at all. We were informed that the hotel is very popular for large events and hence through most Friday & Saturday nights the hotel hosts gatherings usually with loud music.
Overall, we really enjoyed our 3 night stay and very much appreciated the manager's decision to upgrade our room so that we could enjoy a peaceful couple of days in a luxury.
Note: Parking costs an extra £15 / day unless you have Expedia VIP benefits.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
My recent experience of two nights at the Hotel Miramar was disappointing. I knew its an old former home & expected creaky floor boards, doors etc, but!
When I first checked in I specifically requested a quiet room which reception assured me the allocated room was.
Things were fine till about 8pm Friday evenwhen I finally discovered why I could hear other guests conversations from the hallway was due to a one inch gap under the guest room door, which if nothing else is a fire safety risk?
I tried to ignore this but when I started hearing feint conversations & someone dragging chairs across hard surfaces too, emanating from the wall adjacent my bed I asked for another room.
The helpful second receptionist duly showed me two other rooms suggesting the later on the second floor was the furtherest away from any sources of noise which I accepted. She kindly offered me a complimentary breakfast for the following morning too.
*** However, Saturday evening unbeknown the hotel held a 40th birthday party for some unknown external group, involving full blown techno/rave disco music heard throughout the entire hotel until gone just past midnight. NO one could ignore that!!!
I raised this with the reception next morning, who had no answer & became defensive even after I pointed out Hotel Miramar marketing pictures/literature fails to inform/show potential guests of the hotels private functions rooms, other than "Meeting!. Had it done so I would have chosen not to stay.
