Sign on the door!

The hotel had closed about a week prior to our mid-vacation arrival, and found a sign on the door! We got an e-mail from Expedia that morning which stated that our reservation could not be completed. Really? We had to scramble for another, more expensive hotel 30 miles away. No idea how the hotel was, but it sure was closed for us.

Not a pleasant stay!

The room was not clean when we checked in--I went over the sink/tub area with several Lysol wipes before I touched anything. Staff seemed friendly enough but were, perhaps, lacking experience.

Great location but few amenities

Everything in this hotel seemed to be broken or not quite working properly except for the staff, which was very pleasant. The window curtains were hung crookedly, the bathroom door squeaked terribly, the room was way too crowded with odd pieces of ancient furniture. It was hard to move around the room without bumping into something. There was no rack to put luggage on, so we had to rummage around on the floor, which was oddly uneven in spots. In the morning, the breakfast was dismal, with the orange juice concentrate undiluted by water, so it was like drinking orange pudding (the next morning it was so watered down it was like drinking orange colored water). A box of tinhy cinnamon rolls encased in gigantic blobs of sugary icing was available as well as some sugary packaged granola bars. There was a note explaining the coffee machine was broken, and an apology that if all the breakfast items were gone, it was because they "ran out" sometimes if guests didn't get up early enough!

If you like dirty & disgusting stay here!

This was by far the worst lodging experience of my life. There were so many things wrong I probably can't list them but the kids have many pictures to prove the experience. Let's start with the rooms are filthy and there were smashed up pretzels on the floor in on of our rooms, we notified the staff and they said it would get cleaned up yet they were still there on the last day. The rooms were never cleaned, the walls had dark dirt streaks on them. The ceiling was falling in in spots in the hallway, the pool had rust and debris in it, I pray for any soul that is foolish to get in because I'm sure they would get a staph infection. We notified the staff every day and they said the rooms would get cleaned but alas, they never did. The person at the front desk did apologize and let us know that the owner died sometime in the last year and everything has gone down hill. My credit card has been overcharged and I've called the hotel several times yet no response. I'm now disputing the charges. DON"T stay here unless you're Gordan Ramsey and you're making a new episode of Hotel Hell!

Never Again!

I've stayed at this hotel many times before. It is currently going through some changes. The restaurant shut down, there is no free breakfast included except for breakfast bars and juice. The vending machines are all out of order. The ceiling is falling in in some places in the hallway, my room was not very clean and the end of the hallway was piled with bags upon bags of smelly trash! The hot tub stunk and the pool was dirty. I always stay at this hotel so I can be close to night life downtown. I couldn't wait to leave and had wished I'd booked elsewhere. I have stayed in this hotel 10 times and will never stay there again. It was disgusting.

needs repairs

Definitly in need of TLC in the room. enjoyed the proximity to nice restaurants and shops that we could walk to. Wish they had provided at least a drink vending machine. Desk clerk gave us granola bars, mini muffin and apples for breakfast.. Too bad thE drapes were torn,bed was old and so was the TV.

The only thing goo about this hotel was the accommodating young lady who helped us a few times through the night. We checked in only to fins out that the restaurant is closed because the hotel may be closing. Hotels.com advertised that this hotel would give us a cooked to order breakfast, which was no longer available due to the closer of restaurant. Then we had to move rooms because when we used the toilet and sink the front desk lady got a call from the room below that their ceiling was leaking. This hotel is a mess and it obviously shows that whoever owns it does not care to own it and has no pride in this hotel. It was our worst stay ever in a hotel! Hotels.com should no longer be having this hotel as a choice in their website. I did call them and they gave a a small voucher good for a credit on another booking.

Walking distance to downtown.

Most of the vending machines were out of order, aswell as the restaurant/casino and hot tub heater. Tiles in room cieling were askew or needing replaced. And advertised made to order breakfast was not available ( granola bars,fruit, mini cinnamon rolls, lumpy coffee, juice).

Not what we expected

City center was a very worn and tired hotel. The restaurant was closed and for sale. The free breakfast was served from 7-9 first come, first served with no replenishments after set out. No fruit as promised,; some stale croissants and mini cinnamon rolls. Coffee was gone within 45 minutes with no one to make more.

Stay away until ownership changes

Checked in after midnight. Staff was very friendly, but informed me many features of the hotel were not available (on site restaurant, vending machines) due to "pending ownership change" Room was OK, but had a strange smell. breakfast consisted of serial bars and silver dollar sized cinnamon "rolls" I was only there for one night, and the place looked like it may have been pretty decent at one point - but I would stay away until the change of ownership is complete.

I'd have been more comfortable in jail!

My worst stay at any hotel, ever. No a/c, restaurant and bar closed, pool and hot tub broken. Toilet backed up in the middle of the night, no one came to fix it,and they didn't put us in another room even after I had to ask for one. Free breakfast was bad coffee and a granola bar. It was so bad that when I complained the next morning, they refunded the entire charge.
