Enjoy your morning coffee gazing at panoramic water views on the deck or in the master bedroom. Spend the day exploring the lake in the cottage canoe reserved for guests, hiking to one of the many waterfalls nearby, sipping wine along the Keuka or Seneca Wine trails, or letting the lake breeze wash over you while lounging on one of our 4 deck levels.

Built incorporating several mature trees, the young (and young-at-heart), will be tickled by the treehouse feel of the outdoor living spaces. Both bedrooms at Painted Quail Cottage provide views of the quiet and rustic Lamoka lake.

The Primary bedroom is located on the main floor with a Queen size bed, just off of the Living Room, with windows facing over the lake. The second bedroom is in the basement level and has a Queen size bed and a door out onto the lower level deck. The family room in the basement has an additional Full size day bed for sleeping an additional 2 persons. There is a full bath on the main floor with a porcelain soaking tub that has been outfitted with a shower as well.

Several cozy nooks provide an ideal space to curl up with a great book.
The kitchen is outfitted with a large stainless gas range/oven and the cookware/dinnerware you need for cooking up family meals, fileting the day's catch or uncorking a local bottle of wine.

Make memories in the family room, if the weather spoils your outdoor plans, by utilizing the smart TV or DVD player (with DVD library cratering to every age). Looking to un-plug? The collection of board and indoor games can help with that.

Outdoor activities are a big deal in the Finger Lakes! The size of Lamoka Lake makes it a great lake for swimming, due to the water warming faster and higher than the surrounding larger lakes. Fish off the dock, use our lake frontage to enter the water for a swim, or gather around the chimenea for a campfire & S'mores. Lamoka lake is also centrally located to the Finger Lakes Region's most popular attractions & activities.

Whether you're a couple seeking a romantic weekend, a family set on sharing an unforgettable week, or a group of friends looking to unwind and connect, Painted Quail Cottage is anxious to accommodate you.

Painted Quail is absolutely a five star. The pictures don’t do it justice. The house is amazing, the view is spectacular and the finger lakes are a must see! Our weather was gorgeous and we had an absolutely wonderful 31st wedding anniversary. Will definitely be returning in the spring.

Relaxing like we needed to.

This cottage was perfect for the two of us. Husbands said it felt like staying in a tree house with none of the trees blocking any views. Perfect location for getting around the area. We enjoyed coming back in the evening and just chilling on the back deck.

Peace & quiet with million dollar view

This is our 7th trip to the Finger Lakes & hands down this has been our favorite stay. My husband & I celebrated our anniversary here & can’t wait to come back. The Painted Quail is beautifully decorated & you won’t want to leave as you wake up to gorgeous views of Lamoka Lake. We enjoyed watching the sunset with a glass of wine and even canoed.

Nice stay in finger lake region

We had a good time. The home suited our needs and we made use of the provided canoe along with our own kayaks. A little trouble with the shower mechanics but once worked out it was fine. Nice being on a smaller less touristy lake when compared to Seneca and Cayuga but we still accessed those areas. Would tecommend

Amazing property! Easy to find. Very homey, clean and plenty of cookwear/dishes. Instructions listed there was a dishwasher, but there isn’t one at this site. Would absolutely stay there again!

Perfect little lake house

We stayed here for a romantic getaway and had the perfect week. This house is so cute and cozy and very well stocked. Totally outfitted for families as well. Great location with lots to do in the area. We loved the lake but can tell it is probably extremely busy during the summer season! It was quiet and relaxing this fall, though.

Needed a getaway!

Definitely wanted to unplug and we did. The deck over looking the lake was great. When we booked we didn’t realize we weren’t on one of the actual fingerlakes but it was between 2 of them and we got to both of them. The house has all of the amenities you need from head to toe. Tv was in the basement, wish they had a small one up stairs for the mornings and coffee. Very clean and updated, would recommend to anyone.

Super cute cottage right on the lake! Loved our time in the finger lakes. A few things in the house need work but it didn’t affect our stay. Lake access is very steep so just be careful. Sleeps six comfortably but only one bathroom to share. Overall very nice home

So peaceful

This location is so peaceful. There are a lot of amenities for babies including a jumper, umbrella stroller, sit me up seat and toys. All of which came in handy with our 1 year old. We were new to kayaking, boating and fishing and this house made it easy with the dock and canoe.

Our family absolutely loved our vacation at the Painted Quail!

The Painted Quail was such a hood choice for our family vacation. Everything is close enough to offer us many adventures but isolated enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake. The entertainment room gave us an escape when a short storm rolled through. We would definitely rent again. We recommend the F.L.X. Wienery for an amazing white hot and a must visit is the Spotted Duck creamery.

Peace and quiet

We loved our stay at Painted Quail to celebrate our anniversary. The home is beautifully furnished, immaculate, and includes many thoughtful touches. We made use of the canoe, enjoyed breakfast at the picnic table each morning, and loved the view from the bedroom. Locally, we did a wine tour, walked the Keuka Canal Outlet path, and hiked Watkins Glen State Park. This quiet and relaxing property is a gem!

My husband and I took my mom and her significant other for a four night getaway to the Finger Lakes, and the Painted Quail did not disappoint. We went in January and it was very cold, so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor amenities. But my husband and I chose the upstairs bedroom and with snow showers each day of our stay we woke up to a fresh snow painted scene every morning. In our case having the bedrooms on different floors worked out really well because it afforded each couple a good degree of privacy. We made breakfast and dinner each day, and the kitchen and dining area suited our needs well. I recommend the Painted Quail for a couples or small family getaway.

Perfect getaway

This property was perfect for our getaway from Long Island. I grew up spending my summers in Plymouth, NY, and this property instantly reminded me of our log cabin. It’s far away enough from towns to have peace and quiet, but close enough to meet your needs. The town of Watkins Glen is close by, as well as Hammondsport which we enjoyed as much. The property is neatly kept, cozy, and relaxing. The owners truly thought of every need you might come across while staying. We’d definitely be back!

A hidden gem!

This trip was our Plan B, after cancelling our OBX beach rental due to coronavirus concerns. Plan B turned out to be the perfect family escape. The Painted Quail is truly a hidden gem - our kids (age 7 and 11) can’t wait for us to return. Thank you for sharing your sweet cottage!
