No. 2 Blenkinsopp Castle Country Inn offers a cosy and characterful retreat within a truly historic setting. Combining traditional charm with comfort, the room provides a peaceful place to unwind after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. Dating back to the 13th century, The Country Inn forms part of a former coaching stable connected to a Grade I listed castle. Rich in heritage, the site traces its origins to a medieval fortified manor house founded by Randolph de Blencansopp, later developed into a crenellated stone castle in 1349. Though much of the later Victorian Gothic mansion was lost to fire in 1954, the Inn remains a captivating treasure, brimming with original features, exposed wooden beams, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere centred around a roaring open fire.
