Basic needs updating but very clean.
The room was very small and very basic. It needs updating. However, it was very clean with clean sheets and towels every day.

Single room was a bit small but bed was comfortable. No hot water in shower in morning but didnt complain as only there for one night.Breakfast decent and area is convenient for all Brighton amenities. Perfectly OK for a short stay and is good value.
Lovely hotel, nice room comfy bed, lovely breakfast. I would recommend it with no problem. I think it deserves more than two stars. We would stay there again.

Liked: Staff & service
My stay was good, however my single room looked very tight and no space to move around. My shower plug hole was blocked and dirty. Overall the staff were very friendly and breakfast was good.
Helpful, friendly staff, nice, clean room & a good breakfast.
No complaints

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The room was okay but it was very noisy due to poor quality of windows. Breakfast is only after 8 AM which wasn't very convenient if you're heading out early especially during the week days.
Right from the start, the lift did not inspire confidence. Rattling, dirty and noisy.
Our 4th floor room was quite small with very shabby furnishings such as a drawer and wardrobe door which wouldn't close.
A socket hanging off the wall (see photo) a heater which was filthy (see photo).
In the bathroom a dirty, rusty towel rail (see photo). An ill-fitting toilet seat (see photo).
Perhaps worst, a sign (see photo) saying that the water was not drinkable! However, no water provided for use instead.
The double bed did not tally with the two single headboards, giving the impression of a room rarely used.
Breakfast was very poor. Limited selection - only two fruits (tinned) and one type of yogurt. Hot food also limited with the addition of warm bread described as toast.
Broken tatty furniture, weeks of dust so bad you can write your name in it.
Breakfast: reconstituted scrambled egg, rotation of hot food shocking, putting freshly cooked items on top of those that have been sitting there for ages. Poor Food Hygiene.
Reported to Reception and their response: "I will tell the Manager".
My room was much smaller than realised, so I kept bumping into furniture which was rather irritating but it was decent in terms of both price and convenience of location. The selection available during breakfast was more than sufficient so I was really full that I didn't bother having any lunch.
Lovely large room, perfect location, breakfast good.....watch out for parking charges, when we booked it said 24 hours was £20 but it was £34.50 at weekend and £25 weekday!
Shower had hair in, the bathroom floor had hair on it.
There was no clothes hanger
There was no kettle but had a cup with coffee sugar tea..
the wall had been repaired but not finished.
Lovely people who were very helpful, kind and considerate. Whilst some of the breakfast staff’s English speaking skills were a bit limited, a willingness to understand by various means made our communication possible.
For example like many places I've stayed at around the country, alternatives to cow’s milk are available, tho’ they are not always advertised or displayed and one has to think outside the box. Some basic sign language was used to convey this. I’ve often bought my own with me but obviously this is less convenient.
