Our flight was delayed by 6 hours, which meant we were arriving after the reception hours closed. I sent an email from the airport informing the hotel and the staff was very helpful. They organised and sent me the code to pick the room key from the locker.

Shops were nearby, was close to the pub. Rooms were clean and comfy beds. Outside area needed attention and upgraded eg pool area and smoking area. Pool was clean, just the seating area and pavers. But above all our stay was great, the senior lady (whose name I have forgotten) at the reception was exceptional. So helpful and accommodating. Reception was closed at 8 pm. Wasn’t able to contact night service. Room smelled stale, bugs were flying around the room. One landed on the bed sheets. The slate blinds were dusty and tough to lower & close. Shower stall had black mold in many places. The shower rod was rusted, not a pleasant shower area. The water pressure was the only redeeming feature. This room was on ground floor next to reception and felt like a dungeon. No way was this an 8 star
