The hot water was not stable. So sometimes you get hot water shower and sometimes when you are lucky you will NOT get water at all!

The location is good (although at first sight at night it seemed sketchy and unsafe) and the price was good for the location. However my guest had to change rooms because of a chemical smell in the room that was intolerable. We also found the bed mattresses to be thin and very uncomfortable. The good thing is that we were booked for only one night.

We have to do a huge shoutout to the amazing staff of the George Williams hotel. We arrived on the Wednesday before Cyclone Alfred was to hit land on Thursday. They gave us lots of information as well as had a plan for guests. They went out of their way to make every guest feel safe. Because Cyclone Alfred stalled we were able to get the last flight out of Brisbane before the airport closed on Thursday. The George Williams staff refunded our money and made sure we had a ride to the airport. On Wednesday we were given extra room supplies in case the cleaning staff couldn’t make it in. We can say enough about how wonderful it was to stay there. The rooms were clean. The bed was comfortable. Everything was in walking distance from the hotel. It’s a gem.
