Hotel itself was ok, the room was very very dark. We had one window that was basically useless because it went out to a walkway where other guests walked right by and could see in if we had it open. The area the hotel is in is not very nice. Many homeless (I assume?) men on the street walking around, yelling things, standing in shop doorways. Did not feel safe in Brussels at all. We left a day early to stay in Bruges - wish we would’ve skipped Brussels all together. Wasted time and money. Very disappointing. Hotel staff was nice enough.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Great location, near metro and buses. Staff friendly. Quirky hotel, with interesting history and décor to match. Room comfortable and daily service was efficient. Food not tried. Would stay again. Outdoor pool open but not used. Toe dipped great temperature.
The staff was welcoming. The staff gave us tips regarding convenient store etc. The room was okay for a short stay. The location was very convenient for shopping, dining and transport

Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
I'd stay somewhere else
Its very basic. And unfortunately its next to a cobblestone road and a laneway with a loading dock for a big retailer - so unloading trolleys and wheeling them on cobbles mean this is like sleeping in a drumkit.
My room had a beautifully renovated bathroom yet the room itself felt untouched since 1970 - thin carpet, peeling wallpaper, generally tired (like me..)
Poor design and no aircon mean if you want a window open you can't shut the curtains, but if you shut the window the room boils.
Avoid this place...
It has character, quite well maintained for a hotel with decorations of the rooms that are not uniform and mainstream. Some bits / details in the room looked they need repair / restore / some attention (eg wall paper corners, faucets / taps). Staff young and friendly.
