The Good, the Bad and the Ugly during a weekend stay. The Good - This place is gorgeous. The exterior is architecturally fascinating. The interiors have been utterly transformed into a truly magical space. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The new "museum" space on the first floor is fascinating and absolutely worth a walk through. When we stopped at the hotel bar, our bartender (Beaux?) was very friendly, well informed and very attentive. The Bad - We travel a lot and we have a standard rule about hotel food that we rarely deviate from, but it was really cold out and we rolled the dice. Unfortunately we got exactly what we expected, a cheeseburger and boneless chicken that were well below even chain restaurant standards. Not that we were going to bring leftovers back, but there's also no fridge in the rooms for beverages or otherwise (there is an ice bucket). The Ugly - The wi-fi here is beyond awful. We were kicked off every 10 to 15 minutes and would have to log back in (non stop until we finally gave up). Forget trying to do any work here without a hotspot. Just as annoying, watching TV was impossible. Regardless of what channel you chose it would pixelate and then crash every 10 minutes. We brought it up to the front desk, but there was no change. Also, although there was a smart TV in the room but it was placed in a kiosk mode so there is no way to access your own content (Netflex, Prime, etc.)

Yes, rooms were clean and staff most friendly and accommodating. Restaurant could have more to offer on the menu and earlier and later hours to accommodate customers arriving earlier as well as later in the evening possibly till 12:30 - 1:00 am.

the hotel itself was beautiful but the food for the guest looked not fresh. The location is not that great. No nice restaurants nor stores around that area.

The staff were all incredible throughout my stay. I ended up being snowed in for an extra day. The restaurant and bar are super cute! Highly recommend checking out this hotel. The museums in the area are really cool and Elmwood is loaded with tons of bars, cafes and restaurants so you have lots of options nearby as well.

Great stay in an historic building. Rooms were comfortable and beautiful in a boutique way. Staff friendly and the common areas were outstanding with many features retained. Fireplaces, stained glass and tiled floors. The pub was a big plus. Friendly and cozy. Food was really good and covktails first rate. Ill stay here again.

Tucked away but well worth the hunt! A wonderful redevelopment of an amazing property. Very quiet, with amazing high-ceiling rooms. A must for architecture buffs.

The hotel bar is wonderful and the bartender, Nat, is one of a kind. She was pleasant, funny, personable, and gave great suggestions for food and things to do in the area. Worth staying at the hotel just to meet Nat!
