A disappointing stay
I rented this apartment for a stay of 19 days and the owner gave me a discount because I booked a long stay. Still, I paid more for this apartment than the others available because the apartment advertised a large terrace in Centro, and air-conditioning. On my third day in the apartment there was a large fire on the terrace, completely destroying the terrace, destroying the air conditioning. For for more than a day all electricity and plumbing was off. I lived in the dark, & could not even flush the toilet. The owner responded with workers who after a day restored the electricity and plumbing, BUT FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, I slept each night in a hot apartment with no air-conditioning. Additionally, for most days I had plumbers and electricians in and out of the apartment. I stayed because each day I believed that the air conditioning would be repaired. When I checked out, air conditioning was still not working. AND, for more than two weeks instead of enjoying the large terrace that was prominently advertised in the VRBO ad, my view was a burned-out heap of fire-charred wood, electrical cable, plumbing & fire-destroyed furniture- in summary, a garbage heap. I couldn't even keep the sliding door open for ventilation because the mosquito screen was fire damaged. Given the situation, I asked the owner/host for a rebate of a portion go the rent. Her response was that my stay was not affected. Really? No air cond, no terrace, a garbage heap at my windows, & worker in & out
