Staff was excellent. I only gave 4 starts on the property condition only because being in a rain forest there were some unavoidable moisture issues with the outdoor corridors but the rooms and main lobby were nice. I would stay again.

Tub must be changed to allow for full closure, rather than the tiny piece of glass provided. And how does a hotel in the wet tropics not provide for a drying rack or other means to hang one's clothes that get soaked in the torrential downpours. (And not that there can be anything to do about it at this point, but I was not a big fan of the corridors that are open to the weather, which of course get wet with every rain storm. That's something I would expect to find at a cheap motel, not in a five star Hilton.) I did like that the hotel was located close to some of our activities.

The Hilton at Cairns has a great location, all the amenities and friendly professional staff. However, the building is a bit tired and we experienced a few issues with the AC being loud and the toilet seat was broken when we arrived. Having said that the staff worked very hard and appeared to be run off their feet at times. Which caused them to miss a few things including our dinner order and towels in our room.
