We had booked a quad room (with four beds) for our family of four well in advance—three months before our stay—but unfortunately, our experience upon arrival fell far short of expectations. We were informed that the quad room was unavailable and were offered a triple room and a single room instead. While the triple room was acceptable, the single room was a smoking room, and the smell was overwhelming and unfit for us to stay in.
We declined the single room and had to manage with just the triple room, but the hotel was unwilling to provide a rollaway bed or even an extra blanket for our family. To add to the frustration, we were still charged the quad room rate despite not receiving what we had paid for—a non-smoking quad room for our entire family.
On the second night, the hotel finally moved us to a quad room, but the inconvenience and discomfort of the first night were unacceptable. For a reservation made months in advance, we expected better communication, preparation, and care from the hotel.
