Location great, check in slow!

Very convenient location but geez check in could be a lot quicker! They have self service kiosks to check in but they didn’t work. A queue of people waiting not sure why it was such a slow process!

Clean rooms and great location - close to shops, cafes and restaurants. In terms of hotel facilities - we’ve stayed at many hotels - including other Accor ones - around the world and this was below par. Housekeeping wraps up by 1pm, so if you want rooms cleaned, that won’t happen again until the next day. Service at check in not as warm and welcoming as in other hotels. The breakfast buffet was boring and had very view options. People are still paying good money for this so it should be better. At other buffets, you are led to a table and coffee orders are taken. Here, you have to pay an extra charge for coffee if you want it made, otherwise you make your own coffee at a machine that literally serves water. Shout out to Kenneth who went above and beyond for us at the buffet, apologised for the limited options (not his fault), and made us amazing cappuccinos. Overall, great location, clean rooms but compared to other Accor hotels we’ve stayed at in Australia and globally, this one has a lot to live up to.

Room was very dated. The pool in summer was so cold we couldn’t use it. There are nicer hotels in the area in the same price range that I would try first before coming back here.

The Novotel is so close to the Canberra centre and a myriad of eating places. It is well located near public transport (Bus Taxi and Light rail) It has a nice pool and good food options. I stayed on the 1st level and found that the rooms could do with a bit of a freshen up. But overall we enjoyed our stay, i would stay here again.

Unfortunately, our family had a car accident on the way to our holiday in canberra. This hotel then refused to refund (any??) of the money paid to stay several nights there. So whilst the facilities may in fact be great, we cannot in good conscience recommend you stay at such an immoral, unethical and arguably unlawful establishment. Your call.

The reception staff were pretty useless... waited a long time to be served. Didn't answer the phones when I called from my room. There were no towels available at the pool and no one seemed to replace them at any point while I was there. One of the lifts also smelled like beer and vommit when I left at 5am to go to the airport but no staff seemed to be on duty during the night to clean it. None of these things mattered too much for a one night stay but I wouldn't choose to stay longer.
