Location can't be beat, plenty of space for our family (3 adults and 2 young kids). Check-in was easy, pool is nice.The space desperately needs a deep clean and some minor repairs. Years of grime is caked onto every surface, the walls are crumbling, and the linens/towels are tattered and stained. We asked the host to come clean the floors, which they promptly did, but that only went so far.The kitchen is functional, but just barely. There's one incredibly dull knife, a cooktop with only one functional burner, a toaster that cooks one side of one piece of bread... But a fine fridge, microwave, blender, coffee maker, cups, plates, utensils, etc.The laundry is functional, but no detergent is provided. Had to go track some down late at night.The AC works great, but we preferred the recommended cross breeze at night. The beds were decently comfortable. I'm glad we didn't encounter cockroaches until the early morning of our checkout day. They really freaked the kids out, and we saw several 2" long and skittering around in the kitchen, up the bedroom walls, in the bathroom... I managed to trap one under a cup, which placated the children as we prepared to depart. Overall we were comfortable enough in the space for a week visit. The island is incredible for a sleepy couple of days at the beach. The cost was definitely steep for the lack of care this space has clearly been getting though.

THIS OWNER DOUBLE BOOKED US. We were a group of 4 sixty plus year old woman arriving to an already occupied home! The owner, Reginald NEVER responded, we dealt with Miriam, she is nice and the housekeeper/manager. She does not speak English, no problem yet could not help us what so ever in the double book scenario. The other guest had just booked on another platform. I own a vacation rental. It's simple to synchronize calendars! Reginald is a poor communicator and the other guest graciously left as they had just booked the prior day. Nothing from the host, no apology, nothing. Now on to the house. It is not new. It needs maintenance and a good cleaning. Miriam is very nice but everything just did not look or seem clean. The entry way is filthy, for claiming a new property it sure is dated. The beds are horrible, the pillows are far from comfortable. Towels are worn and thin, the bath matt is tiny. I did not want to touch that floor. The location is about the only thing going for it, set your bar low on the house. Very noisy and uncomfortable, not ideal. Terrible communication before and during.

Lovely home, Miriam welcomed us and made us feel right at home before leaving and letting us settle in ourselves. This home was very spacious , clean and comfortable, very cold A.C and plenty of drinking water provided. Perfect location to walk to shopping, dining and beaches. We would definitely book again next time we visit.

Wonderful place

We absolutely loved staying here! My daughter had stayed here and recommended it to us. The building is in a perfect location close to the ferry dock and the best beaches. The apartment itself is very spacious and well kept. Miriam greeted us when we arrived and was very responsive to all of our needs. I highly recommend this property and will definitely book it again in the future.

Disappointing condition, great location

Attended a wedding on the island. Shared this VRBO with groom's Mother. Originally booked a different VRBO on the island. Groom suggested we stay north near the rehearsal/reception dinners. Groom's mother found this place and suggested we rent here. I saw that it had favorable ratings but did not delve deep into the reviews as it was a late booking.Main issues encountered- Back bathroom-mold in the shower stall, shower curtain bathroom walls and peeling paint on the wall.Back bedroom-ceiling fan (all fans) caked with dirt/dust, no lock on sliderFamily room-2 holes in floor, one covered by a boardFront bathroom- 4th night encountered larger lizard on the wall and simultaneously spotted very large roach on the wall. 5th night encountered two more very large roaches in the same area.Didn't report mold and dirt immediately as we were in and out with wedding events and didn't want to upset groom's mother as she found the place and was stressed out with wedding plans. But the last two encounters with roaches on the last night were the tipping point and reported the next morning upon check out. I was accused of wanting a free stay as I asked for money back. I was also told roaches and lizards are part of island life. Maybe this is true but they don't need to live indoors. Was also told the property was 15 years old. The description of this property was listed as new. 15 years old is not new and is deceptive. I'm sure those ceiling fans have 15 years of dirt. Wouldn't rec

Property manager Miriam was the best from getting us help with broken shower head to replacement of water jug. Miriam also was kind enough to help me move my things from old location to this one. I appreciate her so much. Looking forward to my next trip.

Needs major updates and deep cleaning

Pros- Location is good, Miriam was very attentive and answered texts right away. Cons- mold/mildew everywhere, including all the inside chair cushions, couch (if you can call it that), and both bedside lamps in the middle bedroom. Even the envelope for the housekeeper tip is full of mold.The pool is cold, never in the sun, and is literally a pigeon toilet. There isn't anything on the ledge above to keep them off, so they perch up there and poop in the pool. There is actually a pile of poop in the pool. The smoke detector wasn't even on the ceiling and had no battery in it. The sliding door of the master by the pool and the window in the kitchen by the water system don't lock (we had to find something to wedge in). The door handle to the main door fell off everytime we opened it. The sliding door to the middle bathroom is loud and difficult to slide and the lock literally pulled right out of the wall with the anchors attached. The drinking water system is room temp, looks rusty, and runs constantly. The walls and floors are filthy throughout the house. The security gate lock stopped working halfway through our trip. Miriam came and looked at it, but it was never fixed. We pretended to punch in the code every time we entered so people on the street didn't notice it wasn't locked. All in all, I would not stay here again. I wish I was able to post pictures, because I have one of everything I mentioned .

This apartment is very basic. Yes, the beds are comfortable, the A/C works, it is in the center of Centro, so very convenient to restaurants and beaches, and it is close enough to walk from the ferry. Unfortunately, it is the least equipped VRBO we have stayed in. There were few extras included. There was no hand soap in the bathrooms or the kitchen, no paper towels, and very uncomfortable living room furniture. There is a washer and dryer, but there is no detergent to use. We needed to go to the store to buy paper towels, toilet paper (there were 6 of us and we ran out of what they had left us,) and they only left 5 beach towels, so we needed to buy a 6th. The kitchen is very understocked, ie, one knife which was hardly sharp enough to cut limes. Also, in every other rental we have stayed in they have Microdyn, or one like it, to wash produce with. I'm certain any non Mexican staying there has left the rest of their bottle, but it must get tossed. I'm only mentioning these things because if you stay there you need to know that you will have to shop to supply your basics. The primary bedroom has thin curtains with a very bright light that shines all night long from across the street. It is like daylight all night long. One of the bedrooms had very tall windows that don't close. From this room you can hear residents staying in other accommodations all day. I don't think we would stay there again. We don't mind rustic, but this was very rustic and basic.

The location is a TEN, but the accommodations....

Casa Misy is in a great location. A short walk will get you to the beach, ferry, shopping, and food. In the VRBO listing they use the word "new". There is nothing inside that has been replaced or painted in over 10 years. The interior has seen better days. We were lucky enough to have good weather and not have to spend much time seated inside. The couch is like a church pew with a thin homemade cushion and pillows. The clothes washer was unplugged so they knew it was not working prior to our arrival. This was not mentioned. Since we were staying for 7 days we used a laundry service. There is something up with the building plumbing. When we walked in there was a distinctive sewage smell. There is a piece of plywood covering a hole in the floor so you can listen to the building plumbing in use. We would stay here again for 2-3 days and then oddities may not have been so noticeable. Staying here for a week allowed or the flaws to become obvious. The pool was nice!

Great location

Right in the middle of downtown; everything is within walking distance. Normally when we go to Isla we get a golf cart but didn’t have to by staying here. This place is close proximity to the ferry and the marina if you want to go on a fishing trip. If you get a chance go to the Tiny Gecko Bar, which is on the boardwalk, great guacamole, food and cheap beer. Restaurants, convenience stores and grocery stores are all within easy walking distance. Every time I made contact with the owner I received a response back within the hour and many times within minutes.

Perfect!

We had 3 nights here before heading to a resort. It is exactly what we wanted. We wanted walking distance to beach, restaurants, local spots and this gave us it all. Casa Misi was the exact local experience we wanted. The bedrooms were great size, with plenty of space in each. The outdoor area was small and quaint. Since we were there only a brief time we didn’t utilize it as we had hoped. Hidalgo street is so close! The coffee shop catty corner, Cafe Cito is great and the owners so kind. Their breakfast looked amazing too although we only had coffee. We did a golf cart tour around the Island and had so much fun. Picks you up right at your place. Would recommend and can’t wait until our next Isla trip.

VRBO on Isla Mujeras

Our party was 6 adults. The host was very responsive to any questions. He responded promptly with though explanations. The check in process was flawless. We had communication with the onsite manager Mariam. She sent me a location pin and was waiting to show us in and how to work the lights, etc. There was filtered water for us to drink and then we could refill our water bottles for when we went out. The house is small but adequate. We weren’t there much as there is so much to do out and about. The mattresses were on the firm side which I liked but if you like a softer bed this may not be to your comfort. One of the couples has a sleep number bed home and found this mattress not at the right number! 🙃 For me I slept like a baby. Bath towels and beach towels provided. Washer and dryer worked well. The pool was a plus and we used it a couple of times. This location was minutes walk to the beautiful north beach. Shopping near by, good restaurants and a 7-10 minute walk to the ferry. Golf cart rentals close if you want to tour the island. I would definitely rent this location again.
