THE LOCATION IS PERFECT .....
Just 150 metres from the wonderful, safe white sand beach, promenade and restaurants; located between the main square (Place de la Mediterrannee) with interesting shops, restaurants and cafes along the way and the picturesque marina area with water activities, aquarium and restaurants; within leisurely walking distance of the regular day and nightime markets held along the promenade and in the main square. Guests really enjoy the quiet calm of the apartment while valuing its proximity to holiday activities.
THE SETTING IS JUST RIGHT ......
The three storey apartment complex of about 45 apartments (Residence les Amandiers) is set in a quiet mixed villa / apartment area with nearby shops and restaurants. The 1960's complex has a lovely atmosphere and style with original ceramic art work and delightful gardens.
THE APARTMENT IS ... JUST LOVELY
The balcony provides spectacular sunsets and panoramic views of the Pyrenees. A comfortable, light feel is provided by large windows and double doors opening on to the balcony. Access to the balcony is from the L-shaped kitchen/lounge area which includes a well equipped fitted kitchen. The large bedroom and bathroom open on to the lounge area. The apartment has a modern air conditioning system (installed in 2023). Free high quality Wifi is provided (along with a TV with a wide range of channels and a DVD player). There's lots of flexibility for sleeping arrangements - the bedroom comfortably accommodates a double bed and bunk beds and the lounge area has a double sofa-bed. A cot can be provided on request. Bed sheets and bathroom towels are provided without additional cost.
IMPORTANT EXTRAS .....
The apartment comes with a designated parking space in the the gated car park (a telecommand is provided). Windows and doors have been upgraded to double glazed pvc with electrically powered rolling shutters while the original 1950's floor tiles have been retained.
CANET - SO MUCH TO OFFER ....
Apart from the wonderful safe beach, marina, aquarium, markets and many restaurants and shops, all within walking distance of the apartment, the classic vineyards of the area, the calm of the salt lake with its flamingos, pony trekking, etc. are within easy cycling distance of the apartment; There are a number of fabulous golf courses within a few minutes drive. All of this with stunning views of the Mediterranean and Pyrenees and countryside carpeted in sun baked vineyards.
CANET - A SUPER HOLIDAY BASE ....
Canet is the perfect base from which to explore the coast line north and south and the beautiful Roussillon countryside. The colourful Catalan sity of Perpignan is just 10 minutes away and the border with Spain just 25 minutes. The coastline to the South includes such picturesque locations as Collioure and locations such as Ceret and Figueres are saturated in artistic history. The Pyrenees provide something for everybody - from picnicers and walkers to cyclists who love a challenge and adventure sports enthusiasts.
GETTING ABOUT ....
Take a coastal trip on a catamaran from the Marina; Hire a bike, tandem or family bike on the promenade; Take the road train along the beach front; The bus stop for trips to Perpignan is around the corner; Take a train/TGV from Perpignan for that special day / overnight trip (Barcelona 50 mins); Inofmration on trips and places to visit are available from the local tourist office.
