There was no booking

A night before my check in I called them to get details for accessing the property and I was told that they don’t have my booking and they no longer do business with VRBO, I had an important mining conference to attend next day for 4 days, so I flew in from Joburg to Cape Town without any accommodation as everything was booked due to the mining conference, I had to compromise on whatever property I got. They just refunded my money today in ZAR though I paid in US$. Seriously disgusting experience with you guys, how can you book a property without verifying it. I am going to escalate it. I spoke to VRBO rep same Sunday evening and she said I’ll get email from a special booking department and we’ll sort it out, till now no email and no help. I am definitely going to public forums and caution VRBO potential users.
