Sunrise benefits from being tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Como town and benefits also from being only a few minutes drive from the town centre and from the nature-blessed shores of its renowned lake. It is set on the top of a green and gently rolling hill adjacent this lively city. It is a peaceful place where you will still be able to listen to the birds singing, the crickets chirping, the frogs croaking and where, on certain nights, you may still be able to witness the magic of fireflies.
Sunrise is one of five small, fully self contained flats that this Villa has been divided into. It is surrounded by a green and lush garden offering secure private parking and an abundance of fruit trees, grassy areas, flowers, an ancient Giant Thuja tree and a vegetable garden.
You will find the flat spotlessly clean, comfortable and functional. While it may not be luxurious, it will meet most people’s needs and provide an excellent base to explore and enjoy this wonderful part of the World. Heating in winter and cooling in summer are provided by A MODERN SOLAR POWERED AND EFFICIENT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. We are proud to be eco-friendly. We are still connected to the grid for back-up but have invested in a generously sized Photovoltaic system to minimise our carbon footprint. We managed to cut the gas pipe (yay!) and there is no fuel burning device of any kind in the whole Property. Particularly during summer time, all our power usage inclusive of hot water, air-conditioning, cooking, lighting, etc, is produced by our own solar. There are also two power outlets to recharge electric and hybrid vehicles. You are welcome to make use of them for a small fixed daily charge.
In the bedroom you will find a very large double bed. This could also be split into two single beds to create a twin room. Please let us know at the time of booking if this is your preference. In the bedroom there is also a disappearing bunk bed for two. In the open plan living room you will find a super-easy-to-use and comfortable double sofa-bed. Sunrise can accommodate a single person, a family or a small group of up to six people. The living room gives exclusive access to a very bright and spacious balcony.
The aspect of this flat is south-east (hence the name of the flat) and you can watch the spectacle of the sun rising while laying in your bed. If instead you prefer darkness, even during the day you can make the flat pitch black with the electric powered roller shutters.
We highly recommend to come with your own or a privately rented vehicle to make the most of your visit. You can also reach by public transport but it is not the most efficient way to move about in this area. There are walks you can take without the use of a vehicle. There are stunning walks and viewpoints that can be reached with a short drive. There are also day-trips you can organise with your vehicle to highly sought locations such as Milan, Venice, the Ligurian coast (Portofino, Le Cinque Terre, Sestri Levante, …), Verona and its Arena, Bergamo and its historical and charming Cittá Alta, Courmayeur from where you can take Europe’s most spectacular cable car trip across the Mont Blanc range and much more.
I live between this magic place and London these days. There is a 50/50 chance that we will meet. In one of the flats of this Villa lives a lovely young girl, fluent in English, who may be able to assist should any help be needed. There are also other people very close to the site who can assist if need arises. A helping hand is never too far away should I not be present when you visit this peaceful retreat.
