Authentically shabby chic chateau, an experience you will never forget. Excellent place for a large group (we were 12 most of the fortnight) and perfect for eating drinking and talking late into the night.
The pool is good and needed in the summer (38 degrees while we were there). Despite the large indoor space it was the outdoor living that we particularly enjoyed.
Not a place for people who want modern conveniences, but if you want authentic old french this is perfect.

Authentic !
What a happy time we had at your beautiful house! There were 14 staying at one stage over the fortnight we were there and the house accommodated us easily! I still dream of the lofty ceilings, the sun peeping through our shutters in the morning, the cicadas droning through the drowsy afternoons, the birdcalls and murmur of voices as we prepared our meals together in the sunlit evenings....what an unforgettable holiday. Thank you Robert and Deborah, we will always appreciate your wonderful hospitality.

Amazing chateau near Carcassonne
Amazing chateau near Carcassonne. We heard how the house dates from the 11th century, and it really does have so much character. Every room has high ceilings, huge windows and lots of light. The 3 or 4 different living rooms and 7 or 8 bedrooms are filled with beautiful vintage furniture which gives the place a real romantic and French feel.
There were 12 of us staying here. The chateau is so big that there was more than enough space for everybody to do their own thing either in the house or outside. The grounds are fantastic and catch the sun all day. Although the pool was cold in September, it would be really refreshing on a hot day.
We made ample use of the BBQ, sitting outside for dinner every evening on long wooden tables lit up by outside lighting. The Ping pong table was also popular, playing and drinking local wines long into the night.
The house feels remote and private yet only 20 minutes to Carcassonne and only 5 to Limoux, where we sourced all our supplies for the week.
Robert and Deborah were so helpful and friendly - proudly telling us all about the Chateau's history and urging us to make the most of our stay. We certainly won't hesitate to stay here again!

Merveilleuse

Superbe !
