This handsome stone cottage on the fringes of Aberporth is a great choice for families or groups of friends to unwind in the fresh air of Cardigan Bay. The village has shops, cafes and pubs, and two gently sloping, sandy beaches. Family-oriented Dolwen Beach is ideal for sunbathing, sandcastle-building and swimming, while Dyffryn Beach is open to dogs throughout the year. Stroll the coastal path to Tresaith (2 miles), looking out for dolphins in the waves below and, when you reach your destination, admiring the waterfall that flows down the cliff face. In historic Cardigan (9 miles) you can explore a Medieval castle and try a variety of cafes and restaurants, and there’s a farm park where little ones can say hello to the friendly animals. For an aquatic adventure, head to New Quay (13.5 miles) where you can book a boat trip to see dolphins, seals and porpoises.


Stroll into the inviting lounge/diner, where you’ll spend happy evenings relaxing together – perhaps with a book from the shelves, your favourite music, or a family film on the Smart TV. If you’re feeling chilly, throw a log on the wood burner and enjoy the cosy glow as you settle in. The dining area has additional seating, while the wooden table provides a welcoming spot for a leisurely meal or a few rounds of one of the board games provided. Cook delicious meals in the pretty kitchen, where the gas hob and oven are complemented by a handy microwave. There’s also a utility room with ample storage and a washing machine – useful after a day outdoors with little ones. On this level you’ll also find one of the four restful bedrooms – a double room which has patio doors to the rear garden – plus an elegant shower room with WC. The remaining three bedrooms are on the first floor: a double, a smaller double perfect for children, and an inviting twin room. Completing this level is a second family shower room with WC.
