be prepared to execute the original price

Our stay started very unpleasant: soon after check-in (about this later) we were about to pay in cash for the reservation. The host wanted us to pay approx. 15% more of what we have on our confirmation voucher (including tax and cleaning fee). We refused and pay in cash the amount we had on the reservation. No payment receipt/bill/invoice was given to us (experienced in such situations before, we did a video recording of the transaction to have a proof). The host representative stated he will speak to the owner and will clarify the situation. 30 minutes later we received a call from the owner – she said either we pay extra money or she will not let us stay in her place. I tried to explain her that if she needs to pay any commission to an agent, she cannot pass-through these costs to the guests. She was not satisfied and said she will contact Hotels.com and I will have to pay anyway. I’ve reached customer support myself soon after and explained the situation. They were very helpful and helped us resolve the problem. Anyway: the location is very good, we were given an apartment on 31st floor – with a great sea view. There WAS NO: hot water, hair dryer nor safe box. No TV in the living room – only in the bedroom. The pool was on top (38th) floor – it is extremely windy up there and the whole pleasure of using this pool is lost because of that. They say there is gym, but the entrance is 20.000 COP per h. Apartment was poorly furnished, was not prepared for the number of guests
