Enjoy treehouse-type views from this spacious garage apartment located behind a distinguished, beautifully maintained funeral home. A notorious funeral director once lived here, who was made famous in the movie Bernie. This cozy apartment and convenient location will make your travel and stay enjoyable. Experience the relaxing living room with a cute reading nook. Savor cooking a fresh meal or satisfy your craving by eating or ordering out. Being situated near the main streets and square of downtown Carthage, you can enjoy a short walk to unique shops, tasty eateries, or exclusive entertainment. I recommend the Texas Tea Room, located in a historic bank building and the Sunflower Mercantile for hand dipped ice cream in an old time soda shop. Candy and Cakes by Carrie has delicious desserts as well.
You will walk up an indoor staircase to your private entrance. The rooms are comfortable and well-lit with plenty of natural light. The main bedroom is roomy with a queen bed, two dressers, and a large walk-in closet. The second bedroom has two twin beds, a dresser and closet. The kitchen is well-stocked and has a dining table, perfect for eating, working, or playing games. There is plenty of space for a group or family to lounge.
The apartment is one of two above the garage of the funeral home. It is a stand alone building. You will have a use of one of the bays of the garage, and may park in it or any of the other parking spaces. There is green space beside the building that you are welcome to use to get some fresh air. It is located near a couple of churches, homes, and county facilities. Despite being a commercial area, once inside, you will feel secluded and comfortable.
