Romantic trullo with sea access and stunning views (house G)

A magnificent area of 2.5 acres of pine trees with direct access to the sea, this romantic trullo, ideal for two or three people, offers spectacular views of the rocky cliffs of Castro and the Palombara cove. Immerse yourself in a corner of paradise where you can smell the fragrance of the Mediterranean and listen to seagulls and cicadas interrupted only by the sound of the waves. This house is located in an exclusive and unique estate consisting of several villas and trulli, separated by pine trees. It is known as "La Palombara" and was popular with VIPs in the seventies and eighties. At the end of 2019 we rediscovered this heavenly place and we chose to upgrade and redesign parts. It is now available for guests that are looking for a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In the photo gallery you will find a map of the entire grounds. A path leads from the property directly to the sea. On your way down, the views are beathtaking. Once on the rocky beach, you will find four access points for swimming, diving, snorkeling or fishing in the crystal clear water of the Lower Adriatic Sea. It might be possible to see passing dolphins. (Caution: the path and access to the sea from the rocks is not suitable for small children or people with disabilities.)The trullo, made of beautiful stone walls, has one double room with en-suite bathroom with shower (completely renovated in May 2022) and a living space with kitchen (including a dishwasher), fireplace and an additional single bed. The interior is simple but functional; there is no TV nor air conditioning, but the thick walls and pine trees mitigate the heat of the summer sun. Just outside the building, a private partly shaded terrace offers wonderful views.A barbecue and an outdoor shower complete the picture.The well-known fortified village of Castro, with its bars, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket, can be reached on foot in just ten minutes. The walk is along a charming path under the ancient Messapian walls. For those who prefer sandy beaches to rocks, the enchanting sandy beach of Porto Miggiano is 5 km away; very charming are also the coves of Porto Badisco and the long sandy beaches of Alimini, north of Otranto. Sheets, duvets and towels are not included. If you don't want to bring them with you from home, regardless of the length of your stay, you can rent them for €24 per person. Final cleaning is not included and costs €80, unless you clean yourselves before departure. Dogs and pets are allowed (max 2 dogs or pets, surcharge €100 per dog/pet). You will need to inform us in advance. We will ask you to pay a security deposit of €400 before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded within 7 days after departure, if there is no damage. Electricity costs (and thus where applicable AC, hot water, heating etc.) are NOT included in the price and will be charged based on your actual consumption. The price per kWh charged to guests was €0,52 on 14/03/2025, when this text was last updated, but as prices are fluctuating a lot, your actual price per kWh will be communicated a few days before your arrival based on the current market price.We decided not to include electricity costs in the rent in order to: a) keep our rental prices stable despite inflation and b) incentivate our guests to use electricity responsibly, helping us to reach our sustainability goals.
