Simple, clean accommodations but with character! Reminds me of the old motor lodges of yester-year. Small property, so you get to speak with the owners (who are also the housekeeping and maintenance staff). Owners were very friendly and accommodating (early check in). Location is walking distance to beach/pier/shops. Will stay here again when I'm in the area.

Classic Central Coast destination with charm, value and convenience. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Location is ideally located to the center of town but a block or 2 off to assure quietness and security. Walk to great surf, coffee, dining and shopping. Adjacent to the town super market. Bonus is some rooms have kitchens and the property has a quaint garden and sitting area.

A charming mid-century motor court perfectly situated in the heart of Cayucos, just steps from wonderful restaurants and boutiques.  Lovingly renovated yet retaining all its magic, it harkens back to an easier time with a slower pace, reminiscent of some of the classic motor lodges on the Mother Road. Each of the twelve rooms has been designed with a unique theme.  There is a well appointed community barbecue area under a sprawling cypress tree with lounge chairs and a wood fire pit, perfect for winding down and catching the sunset with a cold drink after a long drive. Our hosts Ellen and Mike were extremely personable and attentive to make our stay very enjoyable.  We had a outstanding experience at The Cyress Tree Motel, providing exactly what we look for in a motel: clean, comfortable and affordable. This gem is our new go-to on the Central Coast.

We had a great stay at Cypress Tree Motel. It’s a very quaint, interesting motel. Ellen the owner was very nice and accommodating. There’s a little park area in front where you can sit at tables and chairs and visit with other guests. We stayed in room # 5 ( Route 66). The whole inside of the room was themed(decorated) from the 50’s and 60’s. Very nostalgic for us. Best of all; the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We will stay here again. Thanks Ellen!

Decent Stay for a Night — Basic but Friendly This is a no-frills property that covers the essentials — there’s a microwave, a fridge, and a small TV. The motel is older, so be aware that the walls are quite thin. We could clearly hear heavy footsteps from the room above us late at night, which was a bit frustrating. That said, we only stayed for one night with family, and overall, it was okay. The owners were very friendly, attentive, and helpful with any questions we had. If you’re just looking for a simple place to rest for a night and don’t mind the quirks of an older building, this could work. One suggestion: I hope they can upgrade the mattresses in the future — ours felt quite worn, and I woke up with some back pain. A memory foam option would make a big difference.

The room was spacious and clean. Great location. Walking distance to everything. The owners were fabulous. My husband left his jacket and hat; in the room, when we checked out. The owner called me on my cell phone to inform us that we had left these items. You do not find such personal service with big chain hotels. We will definitely be back.

Our experience here was not what we expected at all.. no wifi, heater only sometimes worked, the conditions of the beds were horrid!!!! So uncomfortable we almost checked out but already spent so much money. There’s no ice machines around, No room between furniture, very cramped. Too make it worse, the other guests that were visiting were sitting in the community area using strong profanity such as the “N” Word when my children were present also bi-racial. This was an experience my husband and I will remember for the worse
