It is a beautiful property- staff was friendly, rooms very clean, and ground well maintained. I was surprised upon checking in that no bellman service was offered. We checked in and were given the room keys. Only after we took all of our luggage to the room did we discover it wasn’t ready. We had to take everything back downstairs and since we are no longer younger it was challenging. The staff was apologetic and offered a small adjustment on our bill. I also didn’t like the restaurant hours. We got there a little after lunch and the only choices were bar food. Nothing is within walking distance so unless you want to get in your car and drive the only options are what they offer. The next day we tried the outdoor bar because we were told the pizza there was excellent but it tasted no better than a frozen pizza. It truly is a beautiful property with a wonderful outdoor area on the lake but

Dinner was good. Our room cards ceased to work after the first use. I had to go all the way back to the front desk and wait 15 to 20 minutes to get them fixed while my wife was waiting by the room. Hotel has an amazing patio with a great view of the sunset.

Great for rest and relaxation

Headed to Chautauqua based on recommendation from Chat GPT. For our anniversary we wanted someplace close, that had great views, quiet and relaxing. Chautauqua was all of these. We had a blip with our room, I had booked through this website a king room with a patio. The hotel did not receive that we had requested this and only had a regular king room. This was so disappointing. I had a bit of back and forth between the hotel and Hotels.com. Both stated they couldn't do anything. However, We were able to move into the selected room the next day for the rest of our stay which we very much appreciated. We were also upgraded. And hotels.com did provide some additional key $$ for our inconvenience. All-n-all it all worked out.
