Exclusive Low Country Island Estate Excellent Choice Of Large Groups,

The Island Oak is ideally located to major tourist attractions in Charleston. From our location, the historic district is a 10 minute drive , Folly Beach is 5 miles away and several pro link golf coarse to include the Ocean Coarse at Kiawah Island, with in a 15 mile radius.
The house has art and decor collected from my travels around the world with a few pieces by local artist to remind me of home. The large fenced in yard offers tons of privacy when enjoying the outdoor deck and fire pit.

No party policy:
The nightly rates in this app is for lodging only for 6 guests. The outdoor kitchen/pavilion is a bonus area which is available for use at no additional charges. There is another event space , the Encore on the adjacent property. We the owner, will not book events at this property during your stay.
Please don't lease this property as event space, if so an additional fee will be accessed.
The house is situated on a 1.5 acre fenced lot with a gate and 165ft of driveway.

We are respectful of guests privacy and do our best to avoid contact. However, we own the adjacent (2) rental units, parking lot and the wooded lot in the rear ( total 5 acres) corner lot. We maintain our properties and make every attempt to schedule lawn care during appropriate hours, mainly when guests are not present.
At no time will an employee or owner enter the property without guests request or an emergency.

Property environment:
When visiting Charleston and Coastal South Carolina there are additional seasons of the year unique to this area other than Spring , Summer, Winter and Fall.

Pollen Season: March - late April.
Bring allergy meds.
Outdoor dining is a challenge due to blowing pollen which blankets the surfaces of outdoor furniture, vehicles etc etc. This area saturated with Oak and Pine trees.

Mosquito Season:
June - September.
Pack your insect repellent of choice so you can enjoy summer evening outdoors. ( skin so soft, peppermint oil and water spray)
We do furnish citronella candles on the deck and outdoor kitchen.
We spray the lawns with a local mixture of lemon dish washing liquid and lemon ammonia before outside events.

Hurricane Season: June - October
Though you'll have ample warnings, please adhere to weather advisories and beach traffic / ocean currents warnings.
Also, during summer months be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms lasting a couple hours then sunshine and humidity again.

Estate home with lack of privacy.

We were excited to find a place large enough to accompany our family. We chose it based off photos that matched the description however we found quickly that was somewhat incorrect. We arrived and the door was unlocked and that was concerning as we weren’t sure if we should enter. We then found out quickly that the owner lived nearby and by that I mean in the backyard. That is OK however the host/owner was mowing and doing lawn care during our first day. On the second day we awoke and found more lawn care and a tent in the direct lawn being put up. We have younger kids who wanted to be outdoors and play and enjoy the good weather however they could not do so as this felt very intrusive in multiple ways. When you get away with your family for a vacation, you hope for a place of relaxation and privacy. Our boys felt as if they were being watched by the gentleman who resides in the neighboring home as did we. It was difficult to understand if we were invading the hosts privacy, or if he was invading our we would not choose to stay here again, however we’re grateful for the opportunity to be in South Carolina.

Optimal location w/gorgeous outdoor living

Excellent location for all Charleston has to offer. Neighborhood was quiet, safe. Loved outdoor spaces for grilling, games, smores. Host was incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive. Kitchen was well equipped, and all the beds were very comfortable. Home does need some cosmetic repairs.

Wow! Stop looking and book this home. It's exactly what we needed. We explored the surrounding areas which were only 15 minutes or less away so the location is perfect no matter if you're wanting to spend time at the beach, plantations, museums, shopping orjust relaxing.

Great family getaway

Well appointed property; plenty of towels, dishes and cookware. Exceptional outdoor eating and entertainment space. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, we had friends and family over and the outdoor space was a godsend. The pool table came in handy for entertainment as well. Overall we enjoyed the property and I would definitely recommend it for a family gathering.

Charleston getaway

We came down to Charleston for a bachelor party weekend and stayed here. The house was very nice. Decorated with tasteful furniture and art on the wall. The outdoor space was a very nice addition we used to grill out and enjoyed spending time lounging around the deck. The property was large and off the road enough to where you couldn’t really hear any traffic and had good privacy. We actually met the owner by circumstance and he was an extremely nice man. I could tell he cares for the comfort and privacy of the renters. If you are looking for a nice relaxed, quiet place with everything you need, this is the place to go.

Great guys' weekend

Two friends and I stayed at the house, it was perfect for a small group with 3 similar bedrooms. The outdoor kitchen and overall layout were great along with the pool table. Lots of space and an easy 10 minute Uber to downtown Charleston.

Wonderful location between downtown and Folly Beach

This is a very pleasant residential property and a comfortable place to stay. It feels like home and has a spacious feeling interior. The den with the pool table is quite large and was a great place to hang out with the family. If we were staying longer we would have used the outdoor fireplace area as well to have a barbeque, oyster fest or shrimp boil. It felt very safe and was quiet overall. The owner/manager was responsive and super friendly. We hope to have an opportunity to come back and stay again! Everyone in our group was delighted. The late April weather was profound.

Beautiful family home!

Lovely property and home that was perfect for our family of four. Very conveniently located for both the city and Folly Beach. So much to do within a 30 min drive. Our teens enjoyed the pool table. The living space was very comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. Ample outdoor seating to enjoy the nice weather. Would highly recommend!

Great Outdoor Space

Excellent Family Vacation

This house was wonderful. It felt much more than a house but a home in which the family invited us to be a part. The decor and history was brilliant. The pool table was a great time for family connection and teaching. This home is an easy drive to Charleston while experiencing a quiet wonderful neighborhood. Joseph was an exceptional help and so pleasant. The home is fully furnished! The beds are so comfy. My family has stayed in many VRBOs in at least 7 different states and this one is definitely one of our favorites! The outdoor space is incredible. Clean, comfortable and close to everything! We hope to stay here on our next visit.

The home and the property are well maintained and perfect for a large family. The only drawback is that there is only one shower, but that’s a small sacrifice for such a beautiful place to call home while away from your own. The location is fantastic and the property owner was easy to deal with. Our stay was short and we had to catch a SUPER early flight so I hope we cleaned up after ourselves well enough. There was a cabinet door that seemed to have a lock broken off, but other than that the house seemed in great condition. You really can’t go wrong staying here.
